Immagini, Parole e Musica per abitare insieme la Città

Il Vecchio Mulino – Via Frigaglia n.5, Sassari

In occasione della Giornata Internazionale contro il razzismo, istituita nel 1966 dall’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite per commemorare i 69 manifestanti pacifisti uccisi dalla polizia del regime segregazionista del Sudafrica il 21 marzo 1960 nella città di Shaperville, perchè protestavano contro le leggi emanate dal regime dell’apartheid, Urban Aid, gruppo spontaneo di cittadini attivi di Sassari e dintorni, propone “Diritti/Ritratti – Immagini, Parole e Musica per abitare insieme la Città”, un rinnovato momento di informazione e riflessione per reagire contro l’esclusione, i respingimenti, il disagio abitativo, il razzismo: una giornata di incontro per affermare la dignità dell’essere umano, il diritto alla libera circolazione e il valore del meticciato.

L’appuntamento di martedì 21 marzo 2013, prevede la chiusura della mostra fotografica “Sassari e i suoi migranti” (inaugurata lo scorso Primo Marzo in occasione della Giornata Internazionale dei Diritti dei Migranti), a cura dell’Associazione Demo Etno Antropologica (Ass.D.E.A.), la performance “Immagini, Parole e Musica per abitare insieme la Città” con letture a cura di Maria Antonietta Azzu, accompagnata dai musicisti Marcelo Santos, Mor Sow e Saly Diarra; un dibattito finale con interventi dei rappresentanti delle associazioni coinvolte sul tema delle Migrazioni e delle Politiche Abitative che prenda spunto dalle vicende legate allo sgombero comunale degli abitanti indigenti dello stabile tra Corso Vico e via XXV Aprile a Sassari.

A fine serata ad ogni partecipante verrà consegnato un Haiku a tema realizzato appositamente da Sebastiano Paulesu.

Inoltre verrà offerta ai presenti una cena/buffet senegalese a cura di Maty e dei cuochi del Vecchio Mulino, dietro pagamento di una sottoscrizione che contribuirà a sostenere le spese organizzative.

L’iniziativa è organizzata da Ass.D.E.A., in collaborazione con il Circolo Enogastronomico Il Vecchio Mulino e con l’adesione di: Comitato Provinciale ARCI, Dipartimento Immigrati CGIL Sassari, Gruppo Emergency Sassari, noiDonne 2005, M.O.S., Caritas, Theatre En Vol, Ponti e non muri, Libreria Odradek, Acos, Laborintus e le associazioni Yakaar,  Amico del Senegal Batti Cinque e Axè Sardegna.

Diritti/Ritratti quindi, come quelli incarnati dalle immagini delle persone migrate a Sassari, o come quelli ritiratisi tra le onde del Mediterraneo. Testimonianze dirette. Alcune familiari forse, altre sconosciute, che mettono in luce le violenze e le violazioni commesse dall’Italia ai danni di persone in cerca di protezione. Migranti di Sassari che al Comune e alle istituzioni locali chiedono da anni la realizzazione di interventi mirati a superare il disagio abitativo – ivi comprese migliorie per superare il degrado del campo nomadi di Piandanna – e a vigilare sulle discriminazioni e i soprusi che incontrano in cerca di alloggio; l’assegnazione di spazi di aggregazione culturale e progettualità sociale che aiutino l’interazione e la coesione tra persone di diversa provenienza e l’attuazione di politiche educative e interventi per l’integrazione scolastica dei minori.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Racism, which was established in 1966 by the General Assembly of the United Nations to commemorate the 69 peaceful demonstrators were killed by the police of the apartheid regime in South Africa March 21, 1960 in the town of Sharpeville, for protesting against the laws enacted by the regime apartheid, Urban Aid, spontaneous group of active citizens of Sassari and its surroundings, offers “Rights / Portraits – Pictures, Words and Music to live together the City,” a renewed information and reflection time to react against exclusion, the rejections, homelessness, racism: one-day meeting to affirm human dignity, the right to freedom of movement and the value of the hybridization.

The meeting of Tuesday, March 21, 2013, provides for the closure of the photographic exhibition “Sassari and its migrants” (opened last March at the First International Day of the Rights of Migrants), organized by the Ethno-Anthropological Demo (Ass.DEA ), the performance of “Pictures, Words and Music to live together the City” with readings by Maria Antonietta Azzu, accompanied by musicians Marcelo Santos, Saly Mor Diarra and Sow, a final discussion with speeches by the representatives of the associations involved on the issue of Migration and Housing Policy which builds on events related to the clearing of municipal indigent inhabitants of the building between Vico Corso and Via XXV Aprile in Sassari.

At the end of the evening each participant will receive a Haiku theme specially created by Sebastian Paulesu.

It will also be offered to present a dinner / buffet Senegal by Maty and cooks the Old Mill, on payment of a subscription which will help support the organizational expenses.

The event is organized by Ass.DEA, in collaboration with the Food and Wine Club The Old Mill and the bonding of the Provincial Committee of ARCI, Department Immigrants CGIL Sassari, Sassari Emergency Group, noiDonne 2005, MOS, Caritas, Theatre En Vol, bridges, not walls, Library Odradek, Acos, Laborintus and associations Yakaar, Friend of Senegal Five Beat Axè and Sardinia.

Rights / Portraits then, such as those embodied by the images of people migrated in Sassari, or those retired in the waves of the Mediterranean. Direct testimony. Some family perhaps, other unknown, highlighting the violence and violations committed by Italy against people seeking protection. Migrants to the city of Sassari and local institutions have been calling for years the implementation of measures aimed at overcoming housing problems – including improvements to overcome the degradation of the gypsy camp of Piandanna – and oversee the discrimination and harassment they face in seeking accommodation; the allocation of spaces of cultural aggregation and social projects that help the interaction and cohesion among people from different backgrounds and implementation of educational policies and interventions to the education of children.
