La Stagione concertistica 2014 del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari prosegue, venerdì 28 marzo alle 20.30 (turno A) e sabato 29 marzo alle 19 (turno B), con il decimo, imperdibile, appuntamento: Damian Iorio, in sostituzione del maestro Daniel Oren che ha dovuto, a malincuore, cancellare la sua presenza a Cagliari a causa di un’indisposizione, dirige l’Orchestra del Teatro Lirico in uno spettacolare programma musicale.
La prima parte della serata è interamente dedicata alla Settima Sinfonia in La maggiore op. 92 che Ludwig van Beethoven (Bonn, 1770 – Vienna, 1827) compone tra il 1811 e il 1812 e, tra gli innumerevoli e prestigiosi saggi critici pubblicati, primeggia, senz’altro, quello di Richard Wagner che, in “L’Opera d’arte dell’avvenire”, scrive, a proposito di questo capolavoro, «La sinfonia è l’apoteosi della danza: è la danza nella sua suprema essenza, la più beata attuazione del movimento del corpo quasi idealmente concentrato nei suoni. Beethoven nella sue opere ha portato nella musica il corpo, attuando la fusione tra corpo e mente». La seconda parte del concerto inizia con l’accattivante e smagliante Candide Overture di Leonard Bernstein (Lawrence, 1918 – New York, 1990) che lo stesso compositore diresse, per la prima volta, nel 1957 alla guida della New York Philharmonic Orchestra e si conclude con la sensuale seduzione del Boléro di Maurice Ravel (Ciboure, 1875 – Parigi, 1937), celeberrima pagina orchestrale del 1928, originariamente composta per un balletto, su commissione della ballerina russa Ida Rubinstein.
La Stagione concertistica 2014 si avvale del contributo della Fondazione Banco di Sardegna.
