Dal grigiore dell’abbandono all’esplosione del colore

La tematica dell’abbandono coi suoi toni cupi si incontra e scontra con la singolare storia di una patata dipinta con forti tonalità di colore.
Due arti diverse e due diversi modi rappresentare la stessa città, le sue bellezze ed i suoi problemi.
Le opere che vedrete esposte da una parte fotografano l’impossibilità dei giovani sardi di relazionarsi col mondo del lavoro e di affermarsi in un’isola che offre ben poche possibilità di crescita professionale, dall’altra dipingono con colori vivaci una quotidianità fatta di emozioni vissute o auspicate. Una quotidianità che può venir spezzata e che, per essere ripristinata, ha bisogno di gioco e colore.

La mostra si terrà a partire da venerdì 8 febbraio presso Enò Ristorante Vineria in Vico Carlo Felice 10/12 (angolo Via Angioj) a Cagliari.

La speranza imprigionata nel grigiore dell’abbandono

L’anima del vecchio ospedale vaga nelle stanze vuote. Intrappolata dal silenzio, ogni speranza è ormai dimenticata, perduta nel grigiore dell’abbandono.
Dall’esterno la luce, invitante con il suo calore, richiama la coscienza ad un ritrovo, alla ricerca di una via d’uscita che possa portare alla rinascita.
L’Ospedale Marino come la Sardegna. Con questo progetto ho cercato di mettere in luce l’estremo disagio che, in questo disastroso periodo per la nostra amata isola, siamo costretti ad affrontare.
Distratti da una quotidianità fatta di mass media, social network e rumore assordante, vaghiamo alla ricerca di un equilibrio che ci permetta di scorgere un varco, una speranza per il futuro.
Esiste una prospettiva? una soluzione che ci permetta di non rinunciare ai nostri sogni, rendendoci quella dignità a lungo negata alla nostra meravigliosa terra e risparmiandoci il doloroso sacrificio dell’abbandono?

“Il ritorno della patata” di Brabs
Come un piccolo tubero indifeso fece riaffiorare la necessità dell’abbandono

All’inizio fu una patata…
Lo so cosa state pensando: come può un insulso tubero creare delle suggestioni tali da portare una persona a scrivere un libro ed a riprendere a disegnare? Ebbene, la patata che ha ispirato il mio lavoro ha per me un immenso valore emotivo che la rende una musa dalle leggiadre ed incomparabili evocazioni artisticheggianti.
Ragion per cui non solo ha sussurrato struggenti parole che hanno riempito le pagine de “I diari della patata”, libro uscito in versione ebook poche settimane fa, ma ha anche smosso le mie (discutibili) inclinazioni pittoriche, spingendomi a riprendere l’arrugginito (ma tanto amato) vezzo del disegno.
Ho preso un foglio ed il resto è venuto da solo… All’inizio non capivo, poi tutto è divenuto chiaro: tratto dopo tratto, colore dopo colore, ho visto comparire le sembianze della povera patata che, essendo stata miserevolmente minacciata di essere schiacciata, appare sconsolata ed abbandonata a se stessa.
In quel preciso istante ho realizzato cosa mi chiedeva… Voleva essere immortalata in quel momento della sua esistenza così infelice. Ed io l’ho accontentata…
Della serie “Do ut des” perché lei, in cambio, ha liberato dalla gabbia quell’incontenibile tic emotivo che mi porto dentro sin dall’adolescenza e che mi spinge al disegno compulsivo.
Non solo… ha risvegliato anche vecchie rimembranze che mi hanno portato alla creazione di nuovi parti stilistici, un po’ spuri a dire il vero, forse da migliorare, ma pur sempre originali.
Per premiarla di cotanta grazia, ho deciso di mostrare al pubblico il frutto di questo mio amore incondizionato verso di lei accettando di fare questa mostra e accompagnandovi anche la vendita delle sue confidenze. Ci sarà infatti non solo il suo ritratto, ma anche la stampa, all’esiguo costo di 4 euro, del libercolo che narra le sue disavventure.

The theme of abandonment with its dark tones meets and clashes with the unique history of a potato painted with strong colors.
Two different arts and two different ways to represent the same city, its beauty and its problems.
The work you see displayed by the photograph of the young Sardinian inability to relate to the world of work and succeed in an island that offers little opportunity for professional growth, on the other paint with bright colors daily life consisting of emotions experienced or desired. An everyday life that can be broken and that, to be restored, has need of play and color.

The exhibition will run from Friday, February 8 at Eno Wine Bar Restaurant in Vico Carlo Felice 10/12 (corner Via Angioj) to Cagliari.

Hope imprisoned in the gray abandonment

The soul of the old hospital vague in unoccupied rooms. Trapped in silence, all hope is now forgotten, lost in the gray abandonment.
From the outside, light and inviting with its heat, draws consciousness to a meeting, looking for a way out that can lead to rebirth.
The Hospital as Marino Sardinia. With this project I tried to highlight the extreme discomfort that in this disastrous period for our beloved island, we are forced to deal with.
Distracted by daily life consisting of mass media, social networks and deafening noise, wander in search of a balance that allows us to see an opening, a hope for the future.
There is a prospect? a solution that allows us to not give up our dreams, making us the dignity long denied to our wonderful earth and saving us the painful sacrifice of abandonment?

“The return of the potato” of Brabs
As a small tuber defenseless did resurface the necessity of abandoning

At first it was a potato …
I know what you’re thinking: how can a silly tuber create suggestions which would lead a person to write a book and to resume drawing? Well, the potato that has inspired my work gives me great emotional value that makes it a muse by the graceful and incomparable evocations artisticheggianti.
So that it was only whispered poignant words that have filled the pages of “The diaries of the potato” book published in ebook version a few weeks ago, but it has also stirred my (questionable) inclinations painting, pushing me to take the rusty ( but much loved) habit of drawing.
I took a sheet and the rest came from just … I did not understand, then it all became clear: stretch after stretch, color after color, I saw the appearance of the likeness of the poor potato, having been miserably threatened to be crushed, looks forlorn and abandoned to itself.
In that moment I realized what I asked … He wanted to be immortalized at the time of his life so miserable. And I have satisfied …
The series “Do ut des” because she, in turn, freed from the cage quell’incontenibile tic emotional that I carry inside since adolescence and that leads me to the drawing compulsive disorder.
Not only … has awakened old memories that led me to the creation of new shares of style, a bit ‘spurious to say the truth, perhaps better, but still original.
To reward her of so much grace, I decided to show the public the result of my unconditional love for her agreeing to this exhibition and accompanying even the sale of his confidences. There will in fact not only his portrait, but even the press, from the low cost of 4 euro, the little book that narrates his misadventures.
