Bosa: Una città adagiata sul fondo valle, poco distante dalle acque cristalline del mare, dominata dal castello dei Malaspina intorno al quale si stringono le alte case del borgo medioevale che scendono fino alla sponda del Temo per animarsi con il leggero movimento delle palme affacciate sul fiume, che con il suo corso sinuoso attraversa la città da est a ovest.
Questo è il suggestivo paesaggio che all’improvviso Bosa vi offrirà, affascinandovi per l’armonia del panorama e per la vitalità dei suoi colori: il verde intenso degli ulivi secolari e degli aranceti, l’azzurro del mare sullo sfondo, il rosa della pietra con cui sono ingentilite le case del centro antico, il rosso, il giallo e l’indaco delle tradizionali variopinte imbarcazioni dei pescatori locali.
Bosa è situata sulla costa nord occidentale della Sardegna, in una zona popolata di numerosi piccoli centri agricoli da visitare, la Planargia, di cui è storicamente capoluogo e punto di riferimento.

Chiesa dell’Immacolata: la chiesa, intitolata all’ Immacolata, venne costruita tra il 1805 e il 1809, in sostituzione dell’antica chiesa romanica risalente agli inizi del XII secolo e restaurata probabilmente nel 1400 ma deve il suo aspetto attuale all’ architetto bosano Salvatore Are. All’ interno la chiesa è formata da un’ampia navata sulla quale si aprono quattro cappelle per lato con begli altari in marmo.

La prima di queste, posta a destra dell’ingresso, è dedicata al Sacro Cuore e contiene altre quattro piccole cappelle.
La cappella di sinistra, invece, ospita il fonte battesimale.

La facciata ha tre portali di cui il centrale, ad arco acuto modanato, contiene l’ingresso della chiesa. Altre caratteristiche sono il grande organo, l’altare maggiore costruito in finissimo marmo, tre statue marmoree raffiguranti l’Immacolata Concezione e i due Martiri sardi Emilio e Priamo nonché numerose pitture del vicentino Emilio Scherer raffiguranti generalmente santi che compivano il loro martirio in paesaggi bosani.
Il campanile, tuttora incompiuto, porta scolpita la data 1683 nella parte terminale.
Più che per la facciata la cattedrale è particolare per il gioco della tettatura, da cui svetta il campanile e le pittoresche cupole che si specchiano sulle acque del Temo.

Il fiume Temo è percorribile per 6 chilometri dal tratto che dalla foce fino alla chiesa di San Pietro e offre la possibilità di guardare la città da un punto di vista insolito. Lungo il percorso è possibile ammirare le concerie, antichi edifici per la conceria delle pelli, vero e proprio relitto di archeologia industriale mentre sull’ altra sponda si affacciano gli ottocenteschi palazzi, sovrastati dal quartiere medievale di Sa Costa e dal Castello dei Malaspina.

Bosa: A city lies on the bottom of the valley, not far from the crystal clear waters of the sea, dominated by the Malaspina castle around which shake the tall houses of the medieval village leading down to the banks of’m afraid to come alive with the slight movement of the palm trees overlooking the river, with its winding course through the city from east to west.

Church of the Immaculate: The church, dedicated to ‘Immaculate, was built between 1805 and 1809, to replace the old Romanesque church dating from the beginning of the XII century and restored in 1400 but probably owes its present appearance to’ architect bosano Are Savior. The first of these, placed to the right of the entrance, is dedicated to the Sacred Heart and contains four other small chapels.

Other features are the great organ, the altar built in the finest marble, three marble statues depicting the Immaculate Conception and the two Martyrs Sardinian Emilio and Priam as well as numerous paintings of Vicenza Emilio Scherer generally depicting saints who were making their martyrdom landscapes in Bosa.
