Event “Crafts, knowledge and tastes of the past”

Villanovaforru 7, 8 and 9 September 2012

Days 7, 8 and 9 September 2012, the Municipal Administration of Villanovaforru and Tourist Association “Pro Loco” in collaboration with the private receptive and productive Villanovaforru, organized the exhibition “Crafts, knowledge and tastes of the past.”

Now in its seventh year, the event has the aim of enhancing the activities of the various facilities and the production of craftsmen and hobbyists, not only local, but throughout the country, such as potters, cestinai, sculptors, craftsmen of iron, wood , stone, leather, knife, embroiderers, painters and artists.

The exhibition will open on Friday, September 7 at 21:30 with the screening of a documentary, “homemade” and signed by Piero Tatti: CUSTU EST ON PROCU, a “testimony” antropovisiva the domestic pig slaughter in which the elderly – through memories, anecdotes and news – recall moments of everyday life of the last century.

On 8 September, is scheduled at 18:30 presentation of the historical novel, “Boe Muliake – The King Templar” by Angelo Mascia with the animation of the Group of Medieval Ancient Turabolis Terralba and the historical group “Fellowship of the Village” Sanluri.

Strong emphasis will be given during the exhibition games ancient Sardinians, with some specially dedicated workshops for adults and children, and the first edition of the tournament birillas, very popular game in the past Villanovaforru.

On 8 and 9 September will be open stands of the various hobbyists, craftsmen and artists who will know their works and their works. In typical houses exhibitions of painting and sculpture, and wooden and stone; special opening of the museum, craft demonstrations and animation workshops.

Within the event is also space for the discovery and exploitation of the oldest food traditions with the gastronomic event “Simbua fried cun satitzu” and “Cixiri cun Peis de procure” in the program, respectively, on 8 and 9 September. The taste of these tasty dishes villanovese is inevitable! Especially to know and internalize the knowledge and tastes of the past. Because the survival of traditions is closely linked to awareness and inner experience of individuals, communities, young people! And here in Villanovaforru, thanks to the festival year after year, the past has been revived and regenerated, ensuring the transmission of knowledge.

Friday, September 7

21:30 Projection of the documentary film “Custu east of procure” in the Sardinian language (directed by Piero Tatti, 1 hour). Presentation by Tomas Tatti. Finished “after-dinner” with the authors. (Constitution Square).
