CONCERT SEASON – MASSIMO THEATRE- FROM 7 JUNE

The Association of Friends of Music of Cagliari chaired by Lucia Avallone under the artistic direction of Lucio Garau, presents a musical season full of events of great artistic quality.

Concerts will be held at the Teatro Massimo almost every second program on Thursday starting at 21. The entrance fee is 5 euros.

“Despite the lack of funding there is a determination by the Association to propose the level of events” that the objective set by Lucia Avallone, will be organized, the competition of piano Ennio Porrino, born in 1981 but became 21 years ago and the International Concert Season 2012.

The first tranche of concerts will begin April 12 at the MiniMax and will continue until the month of July, among the musicians who will perform and there will also Shoko Kawasaki Alexandra Troussova respectively first and second place in the competition E. Porrino in 2011. In addition to piano solos, May 17, will star as a sound design and multimedia, in fact, together with MiniM Ensemble, the Saxophone Gaetano Costa, Lucio Garau piano, bass Luke Ghidini, Manfred Clement will work to develop sound real-time video processing and Marcel Wierckx of electronic real-time.

After a brief pause, the program will resume in August with four concerts of contemporary music, but in September there will be four concerts of early music, will resume in October, the season of piano concerts at the MiniMax and finally 12 to 17 November will be held in co-production with the Lyric Theatre of Cagliari, the twenty-first edition of the Porrino.

Finally, it must be emphasized that the non-profit association, the Concert Season is sponsored and supported by MiBAC, the City of Cagliari, the Province, by the Department of Education, Culture, Information, Entertainment and Sports and by the Tourist Region of Sardinia, with the support of the Fondazione Banco di Sardegna and in this regard should also be mentioned the extremely competitive price of tickets, euro 2-5, because the noble goal of Friends of Music is to achieve widespread culture of classical music.
