COMPETITION PENCILS TRAVEL

The theme of the trip but also the memory, recounted in images through the eyes of the traveler: it is inspired by the current exhibition in the Lazaretto of Cagliari the competition “pencils Journey” sponsored by the city of Cagliari and the Municipal Art Centre The Lazaretto .

The goal is to teach students, design enthusiasts and comics or simple travelers, telling a creative experiences, places or cities across the carnet de voyage, practical, economical and at the same time fascinating to stop the emotions of a trip. A few simple materials: paper, paints, crayons and glue, watercolors and inks. The notebooks can accommodate drawings and written notes, photographs, notes and clippings, everything that can retain fragments of memories.

The competition will reward the most beautiful and original notebooks: applications, individual or group, must be received at the Cultural Center of the Lazaretto Cagliari by December 28, 2012 (see attached notice). The jury, composed by Stefano Obino and designers Andrea Longhi, Miguel Herranz and Lapin, assess the work and decide the top three, which will be exhibited at the Lazaretto until 27 January.

The competition, in workshops for schools on the same theme, is designed (along with other cultural events) as part of the exhibition “Travel Diaries, a day late taking” personal Stefano Obino, illustrator, cartoonist, graphic Oristano. On display in the Sala degli Archi Lazzaretto by the Navigators in Cagliari, until January 27, 2013, one hundred works, including illustrations, drawings, photographs, paintings that tell the journey of the author in the symbols of European history. From Paris to Krakow from Berlin to Auschwitz through the city, the countryside and suburbs where historical events have left their mark, Stefano Obino observes and records in his notebook impressions, faces and images as a traveler of yesteryear.
