Su Re è un film di genere drammatico della durata di 80 min. diretto da Giovanni Columbu e interpretato da Fiorenzo Mattu, Pietrina Menneas, Tonino Murgia, Paolo Pillonca, Antonio Forma, Luca Todde, Giovanni Frau, Bruno Petretto, Ignazio Pani, Carlo Sannais.

La passione di Cristo ambientata in Sardegna, un Gesù con i capelli corti e decisamente “non bello”, i giudei che parlano in sardo. Il progetto cinematografico di Giovanni Columbu, intitolato Su Re, ha più di un elemento che stride con la tradizione storico-religiosa. Ma è proprio questa la forza di un film che in attesa di arrivare nelle sale (dal 21 marzo in Sardegna e dal 28 marzo nel resto d’Italia) ha già ottenuto responsi positivi sia durante il Torino Film Festival che in quello di Rotterdam. Il primo sostenitore del nuovo lavoro del regista di Arcipelaghi è Nanni Moretti. “Non è un film storico e non segue i tradizionali canoni della narrazione della passione di Cristo – spiega Columbu .

Il Gesù del mio film è molto umano e nelle sembianze fisiche lontanissimo da quello dell’iconografia ufficiale ovvero biondo e con i riccioli. Non mi è mai piaciuta la rappresentazione di Cristo come un atleta”. La struttura narrativa del film è incentrata sulla differenza dei punti di vista dei quattro Evangelisti, ma sono tante e rigorose le citazioni bibliche. L’immagine di Cristo secondo Columbu trova una sintesi nelle parole di Isaia: “Disprezzato e reietto dagli uomini, uomo dei dolori che ben conosce il patire, come uno davanti al quale ci si copre la faccia, era disprezzato e non ne avevamo alcuna stima. Eppure egli si è caricato delle nostre sofferenze, si è addossato i nostri dolori e noi lo giudicavamo castigato, percosso da Dio e umiliato”.

Un grande regista che va oltre i nostri confini nazionali. La sua ultima opera, un’opera epica, è il caso di dirlo, va in sala in questi giorni. I suoi film sono rigorosamente in lingua sarda (sottotitoli in italiano), Giovanni ha iniziato a farlo quando ancora non “era di moda”..
E far parlare nella nostra lingua i Vangeli non è roba di poco conto, un rivoluzionario? No, un sardo consapevole, un grande sardo consapevole.

Trama

Estate 1980, Germania Est. Barbara è un medico che attraversa un difficile momento della vita. Punita per aver fatto domanda di trasferimento per emigrare ad Ovest, viene infatti trasferita lontano da Berlino per lavorare nel modesto ospedale di una una piccola cittadina di provincia. Gli incontri con l’uomo che ama, che vive nella Germania Ovest, avvengono in luoghi lontani dagli occhi indiscreti degli ufficiali che la sorvegliano ventiquattro ore su ventiquattro. Sola, senza alcun interesse per i colleghi e per la vita che le scorre intorno, Barbara sospetta di tutti, si guarda continuamente intorno e per sopravvivere si aggrappa unicamente al rapporto con i suoi pazienti, le uniche persone di cui davvero le importa. Proprio nel momento in cui il suo compagno sta mettendo a punto il piano di fuga per farla arrivare in Danimarca per un ricongiungimento d’amore, Barbara inizia ad entrare in confidenza con il collega André, un uomo solare, sensibile e premuroso nei suoi confronti, che sembra non scoraggiarsi di fronte all’algida barriera di sospetti e paure che lei si è costruita intorno in attesa di fuggire dal Paese. André la confonde, la corteggia, la rassicura e la fa sentire indispensabile. Lo fa perchè prova un sentimento per lei o perché è stato assoldato dai gendarmi per spiarla? Il giorno della partenza si avvicina e qualunque sarà la sua decisione alla fine qualcuno sarà destinato a soffrire.

Orso d’Argento all’ultimo Festival di Berlino, La scelta di Barbara riporta il cinema tedesco a dover fare i conti con il proprio recente passato. Il passato oppressivo della DDR, già visto in sala negli ultimi anni con due titoli tanto celebri quanto differenti, ovvero Le Vite degli Altri e Good Bye, Lenin!.

Christian Petzold, qui regista ed anche sceneggiatore, ci porta proprio nella Germania Est degli anni 80. Una Germania diversa da quella precedentemente rappresentata dai suoi colleghi registi, perché tutt’altro che cupa e depressiva, bensì solare e ariosa, ma comunque limitata dall’onnipresente controllo del Partito Comunista, che di fatto monitorò passo passo centinaia di migliaia di vite.
Un paese oppresso da contrapporre all’amore dei suoi singoli cittadini, costretti a dover quotidianamente convivere con regole ferree ed impresentabili, tanto da costringerli a fare delle ’scelte’. Scelte esistenziali, qui rappresentate dal volto apparentemente privo di emozioni di una sempre più brava Nina Hoss. Costruendo il film come un thriller a tinte romantiche all’ombra della Stasi, il regista pennella una storia tanto angosciante quanto piena di speranza, riportando in sala una Germania divisa, da un muro di costrizioni, passioni e tensioni.

Plot

Summer 1980, East Germany Barbara is a doctor going through a difficult time of life. Punished for making a transfer request to emigrate to the West, is in fact moved away from Berlin to work in a small hospital in a small provincial town. The meetings with the man she loves, who lives in West Germany, occur in places far from the prying eyes of the officers who oversee the round the clock. Alone, without any interest for colleagues and for the life flowing around, Barbara suspicious of all, you look around and constantly clings to survive only to the relationship with his patients, the only people that really matter. Just when his partner is developing the escape plan to get her in Denmark for a reunion of love, Barbara begins to gain the confidence of his colleague André, a solar man, sensitive and caring towards him, that seems not to be discouraged by algid barrier of suspicion and fear that she has built around waiting to flee the country. André confusing, courts her, reassures her and makes her feel needed. He does it because sense feelings for her or because he was hired by the police to spy on her? Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival last, the choice of Barbara shows German cinema having to come to terms with its recent past. The oppressive past of the GDR, already seen in recent years in room with two titles so famous as different, or The Lives of Others and Good Bye, Lenin!.

Christian Petzold, here also director and writer, leads us right into East Germany for 80 years. A Germany different from that previously represented by his fellow directors, because anything but dark and depressing, but sunny and airy, but still limited by the ubiquitous control of the Communist Party, which in fact closely monitor step by step, hundreds of thousands of lives.
An oppressed country to oppose the love of his individual citizens, forced to live with each day having strict rules and unpresentable, so as to force them to make ‘choices’. Existential choices, represented here by the seemingly emotionless face of an increasingly good Nina Hoss. Building the film as a romantic thriller tinged with the shadow of the Stasi, the director brush a story so distressing as full of hope, bringing in a room divided Germany, by a wall of constraints, passions and tensions.
