ll Carnevale qui a Mamoiada è molto speciale:

ogni anno 12 “Mamuthones” circondati da 8 “Issohadores” ripetono l’antica danza millenaria quasi a voler risvegliare lontani riti. Il 17 gennaio con “la prima uscita dei “Mamuthones” che raggiungono a passo di danza i fuochi e ci girano intorno per tre volte si da avvio al Carnevale.

Assistere oggi a questo Carnevale è un’esperienza unica…il viaggiatore rimane senza parole di fronte al ritmo lento e cadenzato delle maschere.
L’emozione che suscitano a chi li segue per la prima volta difficilmente si riesce a descriverla.
