A Cagliari, quarto e ultimo appuntamento con i “Concerti al tramonto” organizzati dalla cooperativa Forma e Poesia nel Jazz in tre diversi spazi culturali della città. Dopo aver fatto tappa alla Galleria Comunale d’Arte e al Teatro Civico di Castello, domani sera (venerdì 6 settembre) la rassegna chiude i battenti al Ghetto (in via Santa Croce) con il Blastula.scarnoduo della cantante e attrice Monica Demuru e del batterista Cristiano Calcagnile, di scena a partire dalle ore 21.40.

l biglietto, a dodici euro, offre la possibilità di visitare prima del concerto, dalle 20, la mostra “Quando l’idea incontra il gesto – Arte e artigianato artistico in Sardegna”, in corso al Ghetto fino al 29, e di degustare un aperitivo a base di vini, formaggi e salumi sardi di qualità.

Nato nel 2006, due dischi e un serie di progetti all’attivo, il Blastula.scarnoduo propone un percorso sonoro che guarda in particolare alle relazioni tra scrittura e improvvisazione, drammaturgia e suono puro. Il concerto si presenta come un excursus sul tema dell’identità come stratificazione di vite e memorie, attraverso materiali di varie provenienze: poesia e suggestioni letterarie, testi francesi, tedeschi, in dialetto lombardo, in sardo, giochi di parole inventate, musica popolare e colta, in un’alternanza fra pezzi “chiusi”, scritti, e momenti di improvvisazione pura. Testi e composizioni sono “come le figure in un dramma”, si legge nella presentazione del duo: “quindi possono comparire più volte e trasformarsi nei diversi blocchi. Sono come corpi da attraversare, svelare o tenere in ombra. Come nelle tradizioni popolari, il testo è scansione di sillabe, portatore e sintetizzatore di ritmo e senso, in relazione oscura tra narrazione e mistero del suono”.

Diplomata in recitazione e attiva in teatro dalla metà degli anni Novanta come attrice (con Alfonso Santagata, Barbara Nativi, Derevo, Pupi e Fresedde, Krypton, Massimo Luconi, Annalisa Bianco e soprattutto Societas Raffaello Sanzio), Monica Demuru ha sviluppato un percorso di ricerca sulla vocalità trasversale, tra musicalità pura e attenzione drammaturgica, che le ha permesso di affiancare al lavoro come interprete di teatro di prosa e di figura un’intensa attività di cantante e autrice. Così, nel suo bagaglio di esperienze l’artista sarda (tra i vincitori del premio “Maria Carta” 2013) conta collaborazioni negli ambiti più diversificati: dal jazz italiano (Stefano Bollani, Enrico Rava, Javier Girotto) alla canzone pop d’autore (Peppe Servillo e Avion Travel, Tetes de Bois, Paolo Benvegnù, Marco Parente etc.); dalla sperimentazione della musica contemporanea, improvvisata o di composizione, elettronica e acustica (Elliot Sharp, Zeena Parkins, Hector Zazou, Scott Gibbons e Chiara Guidi della Societas Raffaello Sanzio, Giovanni Guaccero, Opera Mutica etc.) alla pratica autorale di composizione e creazione di spettacoli e performance per il teatro, eventi musicali e radiofonici.

Milanese, classe 1970, batterista, percussionista e compositore di formazione classica e jazz, Cristiano Calcagnile ha sviluppato nel corso degli anni un linguaggio autonomo e personale che gli permette di calarsi nei contesti musicali più diversi, pur rimanendo attento a proseguire il suo percorso attraverso la ricerca e la dedizione alle forme più creative di musica. Lo troviamo così impegnato in concerto e in studio di registrazione con la cantautrice Italiana Cristina Donà (dal 1998 al 2005), Stefano Bollani (dal 2004), il Collettivo Bassesfere (2005), la cantante/compositrice Cristina Zavalloni (2006), Gianluca Petrella (2008), oltre che in progetti vari come “Uomini in Frac” (2006), omaggio alla canzone di Domenico Modugno (con Peppe Servillo, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Furio Di Castri, Rita Marcotulli, Danilo Rea, Fabrizio Bosso, Javier Girotto, Teresa De Sio e Paola Turci, fra gli altri), e “Comicoperando” (2010), tributo alla musica di Robert Wyatt (con Richard Sinclair, Dagmar Krause, Chris Cutler, Annie Whitehead, John Edwards, Alex Maguire, Gilad Atzmon e Michel Delville). In attività dal 1995, Cristiano Calcagnile ha lavorato inoltre con Anthony Braxton, Sean Bergin, Tristan Honsingen, Rova Saxophone Quartet, William Parker, Ernst Reijseger, Mark Feldman, Butch Morris, Paolo Fresu, Paolo Angeli, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Tommaso, Paolino Dalla Porta, Giovanni Falzone, Francesco Bearzatti, Pacifico, Eugenio Finardi, Vasco Brondi (Le luci della centrale elettrica), Paul McCandless, David Searcy, Vittorio Cosma e molti altri.
