Terzo e ultimo appuntamento cagliaritano della rassegna TEM.

…Il medioevo nello stagno di Cabras è andato in archivio solo nel 1960, lo ha cancellato la storia e la rivolta dei pescatori…

Un leggio esile, un microfono nudo sullo stelo di un’asta, come in una televisione degli anni sessanta. La sobrietà del nero e di una
voce che racconta, vive, esplode accarezza e a volte si rompe nelle emozioni racchiuse nel testo.
È padrone della scena il testo, reso in adattamento asciutto che, pur contenendo tutti i significati, le analisi, i giudizi e le vicende
che Giuseppe Fiori include nella sua inchiesta, privilegia, ricreandole davanti al pubblico, le atmosfere e le emozioni le lacerazioni
così abilmente descritte dall’autore.
Il fluire della voce dell’interprete , posta ad assoluto servizio del senso, si alterna, creando brevi squarci nel tempo, con le
immagini autentiche di quegli anni e la voce un bambino d’allora, che raccontano il mondo dello stagno e della peschiera, la
ricchezza dei padroni, la povertà dei pescatori e i soprusi degli “zeraccos”.
Dialogano e si fondono in modo essenziale con la storia di questa rivolta esplosa cinquant’anni fa, le note d’una chitarra elettrica
che, utilizzando l’assoluta modernità dei suoni creati da una “pedal board “ si unisce alla “voce” aspra del sassofono nel
racchiudere, sottolineare ed accrescere la forza dello spettacolo.

Note di regia
Mi sono imbattuto in questo racconto inchiesta di Giuseppe Fiori, francamente per caso, sette anni fa. Era compreso in molte
delle scritture teatrali che accettai in quel periodo. Da subito la potenza di questo testo divenne un’attrazione. Fiori in “Baroni in
Laguna” narra, con la potenza della sua scrittura, sceneggiando quasi le immagini del suo racconto, della rivolta dei pescatori
di Cabras che nel 1960, sulla costa occidentale sarda, lottarono per l’abbattimento della piramide feudale che li schiacciava in
uno stato di arretratezza e miseria. Conoscevo poco l’opera di Giuseppe Fiori, l’attrazione divenne lettura, poi ricerca, ed infine
esigenza. Nel 2004 decisi di farlo diventare uno spettacolo teatrale. Il primo studio con gli allievi del laboratorio evidenziò la
potenza e l’assoluto di quella storia, assoluto che è racchiuso nelle ultime righe scritte da Fiori nel suo libro … fu chiaro quel
giorno che la valanga avviatasi a rotolare a metà dell’estate ’60 continuava la sua terribile corsa e ogni giorno di più
s’ingrossava, lanciata contro gli squilibri d’una organizzazione sociale d’altri tempi. Ed è questa la morale di una vicenda oggi
ancora non conclusa. I tecnici insistono a studiare, a vedere, ad approfondire. I politici promettono, rinviano. E domani? La
valanga rotola. Sarà fermata in tempo?.
Per questo ho ripreso, con questo reading, il percorso iniziato sette anni fa verso la messa in scena teatrale del testo di
Giuseppe Fiori sulla rivolta dei pescatori di Cabras.
Perché quella vicenda sospesa tra il presente e il passato, che esplose dal bisogno di conquistare futuro, tra le acque di uno
stagno, tra le case basse in ladiri di Cabras e le sale dei palazzi di Oristano, ancora oggi dopo sessant’anni, proietta il suo
simbolo assoluto sul nostro presente, sulla nostra difficoltà, come quella di allora, stante così le cose, di pensare il futuro.

The Middle Ages … in Cabras has gone on record only in 1960, it has deleted the history and the revolt of the fishermen …

A thin lectern, microphone naked on the stem of an auction, as in a television in the sixties. The simplicity of black and a
voice that says, lives, and sometimes explodes caresses breaks in the emotions wrapped in the text.
You master the text of the scene, made in adaptation and dry, while containing all the meanings, analyzes, opinions and events
Joseph Flowers include in its investigation, privileges, recreates them in front of the audience, the atmosphere and the emotions lacerations
so ably described by the author.
The flow of the voice of the interpreter, placed at the service of the absolute sense, alternates, creating short bursts over time, with the
authentic images of those years and the voice of a child at that time, telling the world of the pond and the fish pond, the
wealth of the owners, fishermen poverty and abuses of “zeraccos.”
Interact and blend in an essential way with the history of this revolt exploded fifty years ago, the notes of a guitar

Director’s notes
I came across this story investigation Giuseppe Fiori, frankly, by accident seven years ago. Was included in many
theater of the scriptures that I accepted at the time. As of now the power of this text became an attraction. Flowers in “Baroni in
Laguna “tells us, by the power of his writing, almost sceneggiando images of his story, the revolt of the fishermen
Cabras, in 1960, on the west coast of Sardinia, fought for the overthrow of the feudal pyramid that crushed them in
a state of backwardness and misery. Knew little about the work of Giuseppe Fiori, the attraction became reading, then search, and finally
requirement. In 2004 I decided to turn it into a play. The first study with the students of the workshop highlighted the
and the absolute power of the story, absolute that is contained in the last lines written by Flowers in his book … it was clear that
day that the avalanche that began to roll in mid-summer ’60 continued his terrible race and every day
s’ingrossava launched against the imbalances of a social organization of the past. And this is the moral of a story today
still not completed. The technicians insist to study, to see, to look into. Politicians promise, they return. And tomorrow? The
avalanche rolls. Will be stopped in time?.
For this, I continued with this reading, the journey started seven years ago to the theatrical staging of the text
Joseph Flowers on the revolt of the fishermen of Cabras.
For that matter suspended between the present and the past, which exploded by the need to win the future, between the waters of a
pond, between the low houses in ladiri of Cabras and the halls of the palaces of Oristano, even today after sixty years, projects its
absolute symbol on our present, our difficulties, such as then, given the case, think of the future.
