The Florentine artist will retrace the steps of his thirty-year career as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, mostly dedicated to Brazilian popular music, revisiting songs from artists such as Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque and Caetano Veloso, as well as offering original songs composition, always imbued with Brazilian atmosphere that is so deeply congenial.

Barbara Casini has dedicated over thirty years to the study and dissemination of popular music in Brazil, where he stayed for a long time traveling and studying the culture of those lands, and gaining the esteem of the local artists who consider it a real ambassador of their music in the world. During his career he has worked with leading figures of the jazz scene (and beyond) Italian and international, such as Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani, Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Toninho Horta, Guinga, and has led a number of groups with which he has recorded a twenty albums ranging between its parts, as in the album “Todo o Amor (1997), readings monographic work of great artists like Caetano Veloso (2003), Tom Jobim (2004), Chico Buarque (2007), Gilberto Gil ( 2011), and commingling of genres, such as “Wind” (2000), recorded with Enrico Rava with a chamber orchestra, the Accademia Filarmonica della Scala, and the more recent “Agora Tá” (2012), with the ‘Orchestra Jazz della Sardegna (both the latter with the arrangements of Paul Silvestri). has translated lyrics and prose to put them in some theater, making a further fruitful alliance, that between music and acting.
