AUTUMN IN BARBAGIA- BITTI – 7 TO 9 SEPTEMBER

Bitti is the most important center of Barbagia north, so that in the past the area had deserved the name of its most Barbagia Bitti. Since the breeding, the main activity in the country (it has a significant sheep), can be considered pastoral center for excellence and traditional landmark in dairy production, well represented among other things in the Museum of Rural Life and Ministry, set up in the center of the country and open to the public for several years.

But is the Song in Tenores, which makes the place where Bitti have been preserved traditions, culture and customs related to the past. The Song Tenores is the living testimony of the ancient roots of Sardinian culture, it is closely linked to the improvised poetry and describes events in the life of every day, the world of agriculture – pastoral and craft. Its importance has been recognized at the international level so much so that UNESCO has included among the” Masterpieces of the Oral and intagible of Humanity” and therefore” declared intangible heritage of humanity.” And to confirm the importance of the song to Tenores covers in our country, that the City has set up since July 2005 and inaugurated the” MULTIMEDIA MUSEUM OF SONG A TENORES”, dedicated to this important musical tradition – cultural, literally handed down from centuries from father to son.
