ARRIVA A CAGLIARI IL LINUX DAY – SABATO 26 OTTOBRE 2013LINUX DAY SOFTWARE FREE IN CAGLIARI – SATURDAY OCTOBER 26

Scuola, pubblica amministrazione, affari, perché conviene l’open source? Sabato 26 ottobre tavola rotonda seminari e dimostrazioni organizzati dal Gruppo Utenti Linux Cagliari presso la facoltà di Ingegneria. L’ingresso è libero.

Tredicesima edizione per il Linux Day a Cagliari, la giornata nazionale dedicata ai sistemi operativi GNU/Linux e al software libero. La manifestazione in Italia, articolata in 104 eventi locali, si tiene sabato 26 ottobre 2013. Il tema di ques’anno è “Innovazione. Di tutti. Per tutti”.

Il logo del GULCh è una creazione di Alceste Scalas e Ivana ScalasA Cagliari si comincia dalle 9:00 e si prosegue fino alle 18 con seminari e dimostrazioni al DIEE, Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica ed Elettronica della Facoltà di Ingegneria di Cagliari, Via is Maglias 12.

Organizza il GULCh (Gruppo Utenti Linux Cagliari), in collaborazione con il DIEE (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica ed Elettronica) dell’Università di Cagliari e con Apritisoftware!

L’ingresso è libero e gratuito.

Durante il Linux Day sarà possibile assistere liberamente a diversi seminari, a livello differenziato per neofiti, per esperti e professionisti e per la pubblica amministrazione, il cui comune scopo è promuovere e diffondere il Software Libero.

Install Corner In una apposita area dimostrativa sarà possibile provare i sistemi GNU/Linux e le loro applicazioni. Fino ad esaurimento scorte verranno distribuiti dei CD-ROM contenenti alcune tra le più popolari distribuzioni, cioè i vari sistemi operativi, di GNU/Linux e FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software, cioè il software Libero).

Per le scuole ci saranno degli interventi mirati ad evidenziare l’importanza e le possibilità offerte dall’adozione del Software Libero. Infatti, oltre all’eliminazione dei cospicui costi di licenza, in campo formativo l’utilizzo di software didattici liberi ed Open Source consente agli studenti di rendersi indipendenti dotandosi gratuitamente di software che svolgono funzioni comparabili (se non migliori) rispetto alle tecnologie proprietarie dai costi poco accessibili.

Tra gli altri ci saranno Marco Marongiu, fondatore del Gulch e motore storico del movimento a livello regionale, che parlerà, nella traccia mattutina a proposito di metodologia di programmazione e competitività nel mercato del lavoro ICT, e Giulio Concas, docente della facoltà di Ingegneria Elettrica ed Elettronica, che farà un’introduzione e racconterà in mattinata una breve storia di Linux e del software libero.

Nell’ambito della manifestazione si terrà dalle 11 alle 13, presso l’Aula Magna della Facoltà di Ingegneria, con il Patrocinio della Facoltà di Ingegneria, una Tavola Rotonda su uno dei temi più attuali del momento: gli OpenData ed il Business.

Il Software Libero ed Open Source ha raggiunto un grado di maturità tale da costituire una reale occasione di sviluppo per il territorio, e la sua adozione è vista con estremo favore quale soluzione da preferire, ai sensi dell’art. 68 del Codice dell’Amministrazione Digitale.

Diverse amministrazioni locali, regionali e statali hanno optato per strategie di massiccia implementazione del FLOSS, come miglior alternativa ai software commerciali.

I vantaggi offerti dal Software Libero rispetto al Software Commerciale possono essere riassunti come: apertura, stabilità, adattabilità, qualità, innovazione, sicurezza e gratuità.

While stocks will be distributed CD-ROMs containing some of the most popular distributions , that is, the various operating systems, GNU / Linux and FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software , which is the free software ) .

For schools there will be interventions designed to highlight the importance and the possibilities offered by the adoption of Free Software. Indeed, in addition to the elimination of substantial license costs , in training the use of free and open source educational software allows students to become independent by deploying free software with functions comparable ( if not better ) than proprietary technologies by costs not easily accessible .

Free Software and Open Source has reached a level of maturity that constitute a real opportunity to develop the territory , and its adoption is viewed very favorably as a preferred solution , pursuant to art. 68 of the Digital Administration Code .
