Il giorno 16 Novembre 2014 Sardinia Tourist Guide – Escursioni e Tour in Sardegna e Archeo Escursioni organizzano una fantastica giornata di trek e archeologia nel Gerrei, tra Villasalto, Villaputzu e Quirra.

Appuntamento alle ore 08:00 al Cinema The Space del centro commerciale Le Vele a Quartucciu, partenza ore 08:15.

Siti che si visiteranno:

Nuraghe Serra Madau, Chiesa di San Nicola, Castello di Quirra, Pozzo sacro di Is Pirois

Programma:

Partiremo verso il Gerrei percorrerendo la nuova SS 125, arrivati nei pressi di Villasalto inizieremo la nostra passeggiata verso un sito di incredibile suggestione, il Nuraghe Serra Madau;
Sarete accompagnati in questa esplorazione dall’Archeologo Nicola Dessì;
Ultimata la visita del primo sito ci sposteremo verso la Chiesa Romanica di San Nicola di Quirra, situata in località campestre, nel territorio del comune di Villaputzu. È una delle due chiese romaniche della Sardegna realizzate interamente in cotto (l’altra è San Gavino di Lorzia, presso Bono). Venne edificata in età giudicale, tra il XII e il XIII secolo, a poca distanza dal castello di Quirra. qui consumeremo anche il nostro pranzo al sacco.
A breve distanza dalla Chiesa scaleremo la montagna, popolata sin dalla preistoria, su cui sorgono i ruderi del Castello di Quirra a 296 m sul livello del mare. Il maniero fu edificato nel periodo antecedente il 1296-97. Dalla sommità si gode un panorama mozzafiato sulla costa, all’interno della struttura si notano ancora le grandi cisterne che garantivano l’approvvigionamento idrico del castello. Qui presero vita le vicissitudini delle nobili famiglie del Giudicato di Cagliari prima, di Gallura in seguito e per ultima, dopo un lungo assedio,della famiglia spagnola dei Carroz.
Ultimata questa emozionante visita, ci sposteremo più a nord per visitare, a breve distanza, il pozzo sacro di Is Pirois, Ubicato nell’omonima località, questo Pozzo Nuragico presenta la particolarità di avere impiantato sulla sommità un nuraghe monotorre, costruito sulla pseudocupola che chiude la camera del pozzo.

Ultimata la visita torneremo verso Cagliari.

Meet at 08:00 am at The Space Cinema of Le Vele shopping center in Quarryville, starting at 08:15.

syllabus:

We leave to the Gerrei percorrerendo the new SS 125, arrived near Villasalto we will begin our walk towards a site of unbelievable beauty, Nuraghe Serra Madau;
You will be guided in this exploration by archaeologist Nicholas Dessi;
Once the site of the first visit we will go to the Romanesque Church of St. Nicholas Quirra, located in rural area, in the municipality of Villaputzu. It is one of Sardinia’s Romanesque churches built entirely in brick (the other is in San Gavino Lorzia at Bono). It was built in Giudicati, between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, a short distance from the castle of Quirra. here also consume our lunch.
A short distance from the Church will climb the mountain, inhabited since prehistoric times, on which stand the ruins of the Castle of Quirra to 296 m above sea level. The castle was built in the period prior to 1296-97. From the top you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the coast, in the building you can still see the large tanks that guaranteed water supply of the castle. Here came to life the ups and downs of the noble families of the first Judge of Cagliari, Gallura later and last, after a long siege, the Spanish family Carroz.
Once this exciting visit, we will move further north to visit a short distance, the sacred well of Is Pirois, located in the locality, Nuragico Well this has the distinction of having implanted on the top of a tower nuraghe built on pseudocupola closing the chamber of the well.

Once the visit back to Cagliari.
