Dopo il successo della serata di Giovedì 10 Aprile con Sebastiano Dessanay, Massimo Ferra, Alessandro Garau e Joe Murgia, la Rassegna Jazz del White curata da Manuela Mameli propone anche per questo Giovedì di Pasqua, come ormai da quattro mesi, un altro ospite di rilievo: Antonio Piras e il suo Original Trio, un jazz …che viaggia tra ritmi brasiliani e blues.

Ultima delle varie formazioni che il chitarrista cagliaritano ha capeggiato, questo Original Trio, che coinvolge il batterista Giuseppe Meloni e il contrabbassista Christian Manca, nasce dalla duplice esigenza di rinsaldare un rapporto mai assopito coi due musicisti – compagni di viaggio in una carriera trentennale fin dal progetto “Smoke’n’Blues” attivo in Sardegna negli anni’80 – come pure di continuare il discorso aperto col CD “Lembrei de voce” inciso nel 2007 insieme al trombettista americano Andy Gravish.
Il repertorio del trio comprende brani del CD come anche composizioni presentate nella rassegna JAZZ D’AUTORE tra il 1996 e il 2007 all’EX MA e altri brani di nuova composizione.
Un jazz ‘meticcio’ con particolare attenzione alle armonie ‘chitarristiche’ e una certa varietà di stili e ritmi (jazz,brasiliani,blues) caratterizzano le sonorità di questa line-up e ne fanno una sintesi ideale di tutte le multiformi esperienze del suo eclettico leader.

The trio’s repertoire includes songs from the CD as well as compositions presented in the review JAZZ COPYRIGHT between 1996 and 2007 in Ex MA and other songs of the new composition .
A jazz ‘ mestizo ‘ with particular attention to the harmonies ‘ guitar ‘ and a variety of rhythms and styles (jazz, Brazilian , blues ) characterize the sound of this line-up and make it an ideal synthesis of all the multifarious experiences of his eclectic leaders.
