La Stagione concertistica 2014 del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari prosegue, venerdì 7 marzo alle 20.30 (turno A) e sabato 8 marzo alle 19 (turno B), con il sesto appuntamento: Angelo Cavallaro, direttore pisano al suo debutto a Cagliari, guida l’Orchestra e il Coro del Teatro Lirico. In qualità di solisti si esibiscono: Serena Daolio, Rossana Cardia (soprani), Jörg Dürmüller (tenore). Il maestro del coro è Marco Faelli.

Il programma musicale della serata prevede l’esecuzione della Seconda Sinfonia in Si bemolle maggiore per soli, coro e orchestra “Lobgesang” op. 52 di Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (Amburgo, 1809 – Lipsia, 1847), una delle sinfonie più complesse del Primo Romanticismo, composta per celebrare adeguatamente il quarto centenario dell’invenzione della stampa ed eseguita, per la prima volta, il 25 giugno 1840 a Lipsia, nella chiesa di San Tommaso, con dedica al granduca Federico Augusto di Prussia. La Sinfonia termina, sul modello della Nona di Beethoven, con un importante inserimento vocale, il Lobgesang (Canto di lode) appunto, ben più sviluppato rispetto all’esempio beethoveniano: i primi tre movimenti sinfonici sono quasi un’ampia introduzione al cuore della composizione. Questo è costituito dall’imponente Inno di lode, che vede coinvolti il coro, un tenore e due voci femminili, e che ha la sua apoteosi nella trascinante fuga finale, brano in grado di mettere in risalto le potenzialità del complesso corale.

La Stagione concertistica 2014 si avvale del contributo della Fondazione Banco di Sardegna.

The musical program for the evening includes the performance of the Second Symphony in B flat major for soloists, chorus and orchestra ” Lobgesang ” op. 52 by Felix Mendelssohn -Bartholdy (Hamburg, 1809 – Leipzig, 1847) , one of the most complex symphonies of the First Romance , properly composed to celebrate the fourth centenary of the invention of printing and performed for the first time on June 25, 1840 Leipzig, in the church of St. Thomas, with a dedication to the Grand Duke Frederick Augustus of Prussia. The symphony ends , on the model of Beethoven’s Ninth , with an important voice input , the Lobgesang ( Song of Praise ) in fact , far more developed than the example of Beethoven : the first three symphonic movements are almost a broad introduction to the heart of the composition . This consists of imposing Hymn of Praise , involving the choir , a tenor and two female voices , and that has its apotheosis in enthralling final escape , a song can bring out the potential of the choir .
