AGLIENTU SUMMER BLUES FESTIVAL 2013 > “Le vie del Blues sono infinite..”

L’Aglientu Summer Blues Festival giunge quest’anno alla sua VI^ edizione e per festeggiare l’evento i ragazzi dell’Associazione Culturale “La Muita”, con il patrocinio del Comune di Aglientu e della Fondazione Banco di Sardegna, hanno deciso di far arrivare nel piccolo centro della Gallura un cast artistico di primissimo livello; non è facile, in Italia, trovare un’altra rassegna che possa permettersi di annoverare, tra i propri ospiti, personaggi del calibro di Sugar Blue, armonicista proveniente da Harlem, che può vantare nel proprio curriculum collaborazioni con le più importanti star della musica degli ultimi quarant’anni da i Rolling Stones (suo il famoso riff di “Miss You”), a Prince, da Muddy Waters, a Bob Dylan, vincitore di un Grammy Awards, è apparso, in ultimo, fra gli artisti che hanno sostenuto la candidatura di Barack Obama alle ultimi presidenziali.

Si esibirà sul palco dell’anfiteatro comunale la serata del 18 agosto, seguito, nello stage allestito nelle vie del centro storico dal chitarrista di Seattle, Randy Hansen, che si è guadagnato fama a livello internazionale per saper incarnare, meglio di chiunque altro, lo spirito di Jimi Hendrix. A diviso il palco con Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul Rodgers, The Kinks e i membri originale dell’Experience e della Band of Gypsys. Il giorno successivo Aglientu ospiterà uno dei più prestigiosi chitarristi del panorama blues mondiale dei nostri tempi, vincitori di numerosi Grammy e WC Handy Awards: Joe Louis Walker, (appare negli albun di BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Tay Mahl, solo per citarne alcuni), artista che può vantare una sterminata discografia e che continua oggi ad esibirsi in tutto il mondo ed è riconosciuto nel panorama del blues come un’autentica leggenda vivente.

A seguire, nel palco del centro storico, la band dell’armonicista, cantante e compositore > Johnny Mars che dopo essere salito sul palco di Woodstock a aperto i concerti di Jimi Hendrix e ha calcato di palchi di Alice Cooper, Santana e Creedence Clearwater Revival.

L’ultimo giorno, 20 agosto, la scena del main stage sarà riservata al grandissimo Eric Sardinas accompagnato dai suoi Big Motor; artista in grado di rompere gli schemi della tradizione, suonando esclusivamente una dobro elettrificata, con una padronanza tecnica straordinaria ed un sound dirompente. Il suo stile chitarristico, personale ed incisivo, riesce a coniugare la tradizione del delta blues con potente e moderno impatto del rock. La chiusura del Festival è affidata quest’anno alla dirompente vocalist > Peaches Staten. Partita dal circuito dei club di Chicago a bruciato tutte le tappe esibendosi con grandi nomi del livello di Koko Taylor, Buddy Gay e Sugar Blue. E’ considerata tra le voci più belle e importanti della Blues Next Generation.

Ad accompagnarla sul palco la super band di Luca Giordano. > Come da tradizione tutti i concerti saranno gratuiti, inizieranno alle ore 21,30 precedute nelle serate del 19 e 20 agosto dalle ore 19,00 alle ore 20,00 nei bar del centro storico, da un aperitivo blues con le band Nero su Bianco e Breakin Down.

The Aglientu Summer Blues Festival reaches its sixth edition and to celebrate the event, the boys of the Cultural Association “The Muita”, under the patronage of the Municipality of Aglientu and Fondazione Banco di Sardegna, have decided to arrive in the small town of Gallura a cast of the highest artistic level, it is not easy, in Italy, to find another review that can afford to include amongst its guests, the likes of Sugar Blue, harmonica player from Harlem, which can boast in their curriculum collaborations with major music stars of the last forty years by the Rolling Stones (his famous riff of “Miss You”), to Prince, from Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, winner of a Grammy Awards, appeared, finally, among the artists who have supported the candidacy of Barack Obama in the last presidential election.
