SAFFRON FESTIVAL – TURRI – 3 TO 4 NOVEMBER
Turri is the country of saffron. And ‘in fact a center, together with a few other countries in Sardinia, where the cultivation of saffron has a secular tradition. Today this crop is growing rapidly and the country, with about 8 hectares, ranks second in production in Italy, after S.Gavino Monreale and in front of Navelli.
At the time of flowering in November, more than ten years, Turri organized the Feast of Saffron, which this year will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November.
In addition to the market of food products and crafts, you can visit the fields in bloom, watch the production of saffron and taste typical Sardinian cuisine made with saffron. Also held a conference and a cooking contest, attended by chefs and housewives, from various parts of Sardinia, with dishes in which saffron has the place of Honor
