inCOLLECTION THREE HUMANITY – CONTINI PICTURE GALLERY- ORISTANO – OCTOBER 19 TO DECEMBER 1

inCOLLECTIONtwo_Periferie Empire with the works of artists Ale De La Puente, Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, Carlos Garaicoa, Francis Naranjo, John Smith and Danilo Sini, the attitude multiethnic, polymorphous and attentive to social Collector Antonio Manca, Sardinian and cosmopolitan , is also confirmed in the selection display in the exhibition inCOLLECTIONthree_Humanity third and final piece of the trilogy inCOLLECTION.

The exhibition Humanity, produced by the city of Oristano and curated by critic Ivo Serafino Fenu, borrows the title of the famous and apocalyptic song Skorpions 2007, focuses on humanity victim and perpetrator of herself, plagued by a profound loss of values, blame the relentless degradation of the planet and destined, by her own hand, extinction, so that the text ends with a verse gloomy and dejected, hopeless: Humanity goodbye. However, the noun “Humanity” and, likewise, the English word Humanity, transcend their collective value and embrace a variety of meanings, while identifying the essential and distinctive character of the human race, on the other evoke ‘ be “contingent,” the fragility and precariousness of the individual, the individual responsibility for a disaster must be global. This immense fragility of contemporary art has given an account so unforgiving, sometimes cynically cruel forms, identifying the body, in its exposition and its ostentation, the privileged place, the Holy of Holies of the conflict.

All this because, to quote the words of Francesca Alfano Miglietti, “the body is, the power, the privileged place in which to transition needs and desires, metabolism and physiological processes, attitudes to control and suppress': the body as the site of social control and repression, the body as “carnage of signs” (Foucault), and for contemporary art, sign par excellence. This body of signs, these signs of the body and the body are, therefore, the protagonists of the exhibition Humanity, through works of Franko B, Sandy Skoglund, Luigi y Luca, Entang Wiharso, Orlan, Wang Qingsong, Erwin Olaf, Robert Gligorov, Susan Paulsen, Nobuyoshi Araki, Matteo Basilé, Fx Harsono, Greta Frau, Nan Goldin, Daniel Buetti, Yasumasa Morimura, Chiara Dynys, Peter Seddon, Marc Vincent Kalinka and Gregory Crewdson, to reiterate, all with different accents and languages: Humanity goodbye.
