Sonus de totus and fueddus de Nosu – Sounds of all our words, this is the title of the conference for bilingualism to be held Friday, October 19 in Sinnai. The issue is how to import music, ska, punk, hip hop, dub, reggae and other, in Sardinia has become a tool for promoting bilingualism.

Since the early nineties, when the formations throughout Italy hip hop, called “posse”, used the Italian dialects and regional languages for their texts, now a whole generation, interrupted the transmission of language through family, found in music a valuable opportunity for the dissemination and practice of the Sardinian language.

Participants in this conference, as well as practitioners and scholars of bilingualism, some of the musicians involved in the promotion of bilingualism (and not only) through music, as the group of Ratapignata, the Balentia, the A Arrastu De Fora, Arrogalla and CRC Posse not by chance that the authors of the song on “On Sardu Alfabetu.” There will be Alessandro Pintus, also known as DJ Alex P, who will draw a historical overview of the phenomenon, and Matteo Murgia, president of Don Quixote, who has organized dozens of concerts and other activities for the promotion of the language and culture of Sardinia .

The innovative formula of the conference, with the musicians who will explain their relationship with the video projection and distribution of parts of their songs. The work will be an opportunity to connect all experiences in promoting bilingualism to bring it to maturity and success. All participants will be distributed a booklet describing the content of the conference and the whole initiative is part of the Bilinguismu Imparis 2, which involves the municipalities of Villasalto (leader), Burcher, Muravera and Sinnai and is funded by the Italian Law 482 / 99 for the protection of linguistic minorities. The conference is organized by Amos Cardia, operator of bilingualism and responsible for the implementation of this section of the project.

The conference and the discussion that follows is open to all citizens, professionals, musicians, fans, people interested in the Sardinian language and bilingusmo, and the event is scheduled for Friday, October 19 at 18 in the conference room of the Archaeological Museum of Sinnai in Via Colletta n. 20.
