THE DAY OF ORANGE FLAGS – SUNDAY OCTOBER 14: GAVOI, LACONI, SARDARA

On October 14, 2012 in the municipalities of Aggius, Galtellì, Gavoi, Oliena, Laconi and Sardara ORANGE FLAG DAY will take place.

The orange flag is the mark of quality tourism environment issued by the Italian Touring Club aimed at small inland villages which are distinguished by an excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Each municipality, as part of this event, is preparing tours and engaging activities, free and open to all. Visitors will discover the beauty of these wonderful countries and to explore welcoming places where you can rediscover the ancient traditions and taste the typical products.

Participants will also be offered a “bag of quality” with information and promotional material on the ground and / or a typical product.

THE PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF LACONI

Visit the Museum of Prehistoric Statuary in Sardinia and Aymerich Palace, Old Town, the birthplace of St. Ignatius, Park Aymerich. Opening hours: 10.30 and 15.30.

THE PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF GAVOI

Archaeological and nature walk to discover the area on the plateau of Lidana, accompanied by volunteers from the PROCIV, in collaboration with the local forestry station. Departure by mini-bus,
duration of the path of easy practicability is approximately 2 hours.
Morning: n. 2 visits from 9.00

Guided tour by the University of the Third Age to the churches of San Gavino Martyr, Sant’Antioco, Carmel;
Guided tour of the House Museum Porcu Satta
Morning: n. 3 visits starting at 9.00
Afternoon: n. 2 visits starting at 16.00

For guided tours reservation is required and can be made until 12 October to the references listed below.

The event will be held in conjunction with one of the most representative of Gavoi, the event “Hospitality in the heart of Barbagia”, now in its eighteenth edition (12-13-14 October 2012), will give participants the opportunity to learn Gavoi puts them in a size large involvement in the general atmosphere of “chaotic” joy.
