LIGHTING OF PROSE – MASSIMO THEATRE – CAGLIARI – SEASON 2012/2013
Filed the 30th edition of “The Night of the Poets”, with more than satisfactory results, CEDAC has renewed its commitment to the dissemination of theatrical culture by presenting the usual autumn event for the start of the 33rd season of the Theatrical Circuit Regional Sardo.
Let’s start with Cagliari, certainly the “square” most important in relation to the vast and varied public, now settled at about thirty thousand spectators.
The comparison with an increasingly informed and demanding constitutes the real basis, the reason most authentic of our work, our commitment.
Well aware that the theater reaches an important part in the cultural life of the city, arrange the “billboard” with the aim “to be useful to someone,” to offer a “service”. Let us, therefore, to better interpret the various tastes and trends, with a careful selection of texts, royal and interpreters, to settle finally a stimulating mixture of classic and contemporary, that can provide insights, awareness and critical thinking.
Our work is tangible feedback and gratification only in the conscious and confident participation of the audience.
In the season 2012/2013, from October 23 to April 7, 2013, found in the Teatro Massimo di Cagliari take turns nine companies for a total of 52 performances.
The total value of the event is equal to € 526,000, of which 350,000 euro (67%) for compensation to the Companies guests, 46,000 euro for SIAE and 88,000 (17%) for the costs of the Teatro Massimo. To cover the budget contribute primarily receipts, calculated on over 350,000 euro, the proportional share of the contributions and the Ministry of Culture of the Region of Sardinia, expected to € 70,000, and the contribution of the Municipality of Cagliari, to be determined. Of course, we hope that the city of Cagliari can allocate a contribution that is as close as possible to the amount of € 100,000 needed to cover the budget.
We report that the average cost per viewer is about 13 euro per performance (including VAT). This stems from a pricing policy aimed at allowing a more extensive and widespread use and very low compared to the national average. In particular, it will facilitate very beneficial for students and CRAL business.
M’ILLUMINO of PROSA: not irreverent mention of the famous poem, but a tribute to art and culture who live on stage and in the many facets of the beautiful iridescent play of fiction that is more real than reality, a mirror of reality a route between stories, dreams and emotions.
Journey through the wonders of the scene, then, between the classics and masterpieces of the twentieth century, from an addictive dis / concert pièces imaginative and poetic and refined performances from the actors with “The Great Prose at the Teatro Massimo” / Season 2012-2013 organized by CEDAC for the fourth year in space found the Teatro Massimo di Cagliari – in the XXXIII edition of the Theatrical Circuit Regional Sardo. Nine titles on the bill (from 23 October 2012-7 April 2013) and two national Prime – “Here and Now” by Mattia Torre and “Look Back in Anger” by John Osborne – virtuous with the likes of Franco Branciaroli and violinist Ara Malikian ( on the edge of the words and notes), Lord of the scene and new stars like Ivana Monti, Stefania Rocca and Debora Caprioglio, the actor and director Jurij Ferrini, Daniele Liotti, Giandomenico Cupaiuolo and Daniel Russo, the visionary figure of the Teatro del Carretto humor the “physical” Yllana, Claudio Santamaria and Filippo Nigro brothers ferocious “West Solitaire” and return to the scene of Valerio Mastandrea.
By William Shakespeare in Martin McDonagh, for a “tilt” in the English theater: “M’Illumino Prose / Prose The Great at the Teatro Massimo” ranges from the doubts and the ghosts of ‘”Hamlet” to murderous thoughts of betrayal and murder (or killing the tyrant) in “Julius Caesar” with all the art of the Bard, the photograph of a harsh and bitter reality more than ever in the current “Look Back in Anger” by John Osborne, and the beautiful metaphor of the art scene, with the parable of a great comedian, the “Servant of Scene” by Ronald Harwood to the ruthless family portrait – in the heart of Ireland – “West Solitaire” by Martin McDonagh.
Victorian England – almost ideally to continue the common thread – the backdrop to the story of Joseph Merrick, the “Elephant Man” (in the play of Giancarlo Marinelli, from the story of Frederick Treves) and to remain in Anglo-Saxon look overseas , in middle America offers between frailty and evil “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams.
To be discovered, not without a touch of suspense, the plot of “Here and Now”, unpublished play written by Mattia Torre (author of “Best”) for a new theatrical adventure by Valerio Mastandrea (fresh from the set of the drama “Romance of a massacre “by Marco Tullio Giordana and of” The tightrope “Ivano De Matteo, again in theaters in October 2012 by Silvio Soldini’s comedy” The Commander and the Stork “).
But it will be the spectacular “PaGAGnini” – overwhelming performance theatrical musical inspired by the brilliant violinist – to open the season Tuesday, October 23, 2012 between the acrobatic virtuosity of a histrionic Ara Malikian, together with the artists of Yllana to form an unusual and playful String Quartet for a Dis / Concerto built on the more playful and fun classical music (and not only).
Season 2012/2013 at the Teatro Massimo di Cagliari “Lights” with its stars a particularly difficult and sensitive to art and culture in Italy, in a bet maybe difficult but necessary – with the indispensable support of the public and institutions – to imagine and build the future.
