DINNER WITH FRIENDS by Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte

Synopsis
Vincent, Realtor forties went to dinner by his sister Elizabeth and brother Pierre (both teachers). Has also been invited Claude is an orchestra. While waiting for the laggard wife Anne, Vincent is at the center of attention. The two in fact are going to have a baby. All goes well until it touches a topic that gives way to a series of problems: the name chosen for the baby.
Of more or less dinner with friends, maybe with offenses provided for in the menu, world cinema has already laden many. Better distribution would translate literally the Italian title, or at least to evoke the specificity. You ‘name’ not so much dinner the pivot around which the whole film. From the curious titles in which the names of those who contributed to the success of the operation are strictly excluded. And then continue with the path of a pizza delivery boy in motion, marked by the headers of the streets with a lot of minibiography holders.
In fact, fitting into the tradition of the theater boulevardier quality Dinner with friends build everything around a central core and, as it happened to Francis Veber the successful The Dinner Game Delaporte and De la Patellière have absolute control of comic timing. Their work is first in terms of cinema, but the text has been written for four hands and the cast (with one exception) is that of staging (hit at the box office) by Bernard Murat. The exception is Charles Berling, replacing Jean Michel Dupuis, adding to the French public, a halo of cultured Gauche that the actor has built over the course of his career. Do not think that you are faced with a review of Carnage. There, the meeting took place between strangers while here there is a history of relationships and unspoken that ends up taking center stage. The original theatrical at times you feel, especially when the tones begin to exasperated, but overall the film holds and manages to bring a smile (a little ‘bitter), even though the voice acting (how perfect) without these plays across the Alps to the musicality (which is transformed sometimes into pomposity) and rhythm that are inherent in the language. The final will be a surprise to some (from multiple points of view).
