AUTUMN IN BARBAGIA – AUSTIS – 21 TO 23 SEPTEMBER

The theme of the 2012 Cortes Apertas Austis to be FIRE.

The focus has always been central in every culture and in every tradition, but in our land, has a strong symbolic value of roots and ritual.

From the central fire kept in the ‘House of Memory’ – the fire of bread, the food, the stories, the fire in front of which you were born and died – to the hundred other fires near houses and courts, which, as always was in the style of Austis, focus their thematic and scenic locations on the grounds of the fire.

The part will be devoted to the ritual re-enactments of Su Fogu de Sant’Antoni, holidays deeply felt by the community, and in the play “The great sun” on the fires of St. John.

This year will be called the First Photo Contest ‘Cortes Austis 2012′: each visitor can take part, leaving (or sent) their own photographic evidence. The regulation will be available at the information points of the event.

FRIDAY, Sept. 21

19.30 – Opening of the Cortes: Cortes will be the
submitted only lit by candles,
oil lamps, oil, carbide, oil candles.
22:00 – Square In Italy, dinner with the Community
food roasted on the spot, dancing and singing.

Saturday, September 22

10.00 am – Opening of the Cortes.
From 10.15 am to 13.30 – On fogu up mundu: contos and zogos little pitzocheddos (8-14 annos), by de Uffitziu de sa Limba Sarda – Provìntzia de Nugoro and Servìtzios Lingüísticos Territoriales.
11.00 am – Projecting images of “Queen of Austis”, by Franco Fais, at the ‘House of Memory’ (duration: 3 min.) That will be repeated continuously throughout the duration of the event, along with other films, documentaries and photos, related to the theme of fire.
19.00 – At S’Arzola will stage the play “The great sun,” dramatization rituals of nennere, the fires of St. John, handled by the local Cultural Association and Theatre de Sas Maschingannas Tannoro. During the evening the meat to karrazzu (cooked underground).

Sunday, September 23

10.00 am – Opening of the Cortes.
11.00 am – Returning images of “Queen of Austis” by F. Fais, at the ‘House of Memory’, which will be repeated continuously throughout the duration of the event, along with other films, documentaries and photos, related to the theme of fire.
16.00 – theater events through the streets of the country (excerpts from the work the great sun, the fires of St. John).
17.30 pm – Meet the author and the presentation of the documentary “The queens of Austis” by F. Fais.
Dialogue with the author Marcello Marras, director of the Cultural Services of Oristano.
* Throughout the event there will be guided tours in the municipal area and short excursions on horseback.
