THE OLYMPICS: FROM ATHENS TO TODAY – VILLANOVAFORRU – UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30

An extraordinary exhibition, the only one in Italy dedicated to the theme of the Olympics, which has been recognized by CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) benefiting from the moral support.

The friendship, the challenge is based on hard work, the individual qualities and loyalty, and respect for our fellow man, the rejection of any discrimination based on race, religion, politics on the opinion, sex, are some of the most noble principles of Olympism.
This exhibition, which forcefully recalls the relevance of the Olympic values, will present all of the next edition of the Olympic Games to be held in London, the equipment used in the races, but also those used by athletes to physical training in the gym.

Visitors can see and touch objects that contribute to the achievement of records and firsts, experimenting with advanced technologies and competing within the exhibition itself.
The endless pages of curiosity, records, almost unbelievable events that accompanied the Olympic Games become interactive games (touch screen), helping children and adults to learn about the history of Olympic fun and a chance to win prizes.

A space will be dedicated to plastic evocative 3D Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, where the first modern Olympics and splendid monument still well preserved and can accommodate more than 60,000 people. The story dedicated to the centuries that separate the antiquity from the first edition of the modern Olympics in Athens in 1896 will be presented in the room that houses the model in 1:100 scale of the Panathenaic Stadium.

The exhibition
The 30 editions of the modern Olympic Games will be told with data on participants, the most significant events and curious and the main business of athletic players.

Interactivity
Visitors can “see and touch” almost all the objects that accompany athletic performance: the javelin, hammer, rod, the obstacles, the witnesses of the relay, rowers, cyclists rolls training, the treadmill preparation for the race.

The exhibition area
Made with materials which will take place on the London Olympics: the turf football pitches, the mantle of elastic athletic tracks and field team play. Are provided by an Italian company, also the official supplier of the next Games
