SOS ALDIANOS IN CONCERT -ORISTANO – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 8

Wednesday August 8 at Oristano in the Gardens of the seminar, starting at 22, will take place the concert of Sos Aldianos.

With the fall of the Roman Empire and the advent of Christianity in the Byzantine armies became customary to bring a statue of a saint in the propitiatory, a practice that was maintained even in Sardinia Judicial and was enriched by a new category of people: sos ardianos, guardians, protectors of the patron saint. During the centuries, and succession of the rulers, the term ardianos taken to identify those who preserved the property of landowners. Still arousing interest in their relationship with the environment and the needs to be maintained, their osmotic relationship with the land, their way of working sometimes discreet and watchful, sometimes brash and irreverent, but always aimed to surprise the unwary usurper. Guardians of the time and place as today Aldianos Sos (from the Sardinian and Spanish ardianos aldeanos, villagers) Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis, Bebo Ferra and Gavino Murgia, are proposed as a novice “guardians” of the musical memory of a people, ironic Don Quixote also dreamers and idealists, joyful and irreverent, the champions of the Sardinian hispanidad music to revitalize the contemporary global village.
