5th EDITION CULTURE FESTIVAL – FROM JULY 25 TO OCTOBER 13

Back again this year thanks to Simon Pittau the “culturefestival”, the festival of music, theater, dance, painting, sculpture, literature, science and photography, now in its fifth edition, from 25 July to 13 October.
The event will begin Wednesday at Castle Sanluri with the presentation of the book of Ottavio Olita “The Lighthouse of deception” and follow the concert pianist’s Romeo Scaccia.
The culturefestival 2012 aims to rediscover the Campidano and is entirely designed as a cultural route for exploitation of Sardinian artists, the traditions of Sardinia, the historical sites in the region, crafts and local products, promoting them through international exposure, increasing the economy of the whole area, involving museums, cultural centers, farmhouses, B & Bs, hotels, bars and all present and potential businesses. This initiative aims to acts also as a stimulus for young people, that they may know and appreciate the art forms drawing from them inspiration and motivation.
New to this fifth edition are the International Master Class for young people, supervised by teachers leading the scope of art and science from around the world. The courses are developed in collaboration with: Conservatory of Music “GP Palestrina “(Cagliari), Conservatory of Music” L. Canepa “(Sassari), Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), Royal College of Music (London), Yehudi Menuhin School (London), Comprehensive School (Santulussurgiu).
Also this year will be given great space for cultural and scientific meetings: July 30 Villacidro conference on Horse chain and prospects for development of a strategic sector for the economy in rural areas of Sardinia, has always been tied to the equestrian tradition; 1 and 2 September in Pabillonis “Idea Terrae” International Conference on research, innovation and enterprise development on the reinterpretation craft innovative approaches in architecture, “Sport and Disability” in Cagliari on September 22 on the research and technologies for the sport without barriers.
Among the other guests of the fifth edition may include the Chamber Orchestra of Sardinia, the saxophonist Andrew McNeill, musicians, Alessandro Di Liberto, Dessanay Sebastian, Paul Carrus, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Gavino Murgia, the singer Rossella Faa, writers Claudio Loi, Carlo Delfino, James Ottavio Mameli and Olita.
For the duration of the festival, the “House Pilloni” Sardara will host an exhibition of art and contemporary painting, ceramics, glass and fabric Ugo Snakes, Snakes Daniela, Massimo Boi, Simonetta Smooth and Maria Daniela Zedda until August 31, and Fernanda Sanna and Roberta Cau from 1 September to 13 October.
The culturefestival, sponsored by Sir Colin Davis, President of the London Symphony Orchestra, is organized by the Pro Arte Sardinia and founded by Maestro Simone Pittau. The event is organized under the auspices of the Regional Tourism, the Regional Council of Sardinia, the Province of Nuoro and the Province of Cagliari.
