Thursday, July 26 to 21, the Ex Convent of the Capuchins in Bosa resumed musical activity, as part of “An Island of Music in 2012″ the Lyric Theatre of Cagliari, with the eight seasons: a concert special and unusual the novel combination of four seasons melody by Antonio Vivaldi with four of Astor Piazzolla. The protagonists are the String Orchestra of the Opera, directed by Christian Del Monte and, as a violin soloist, Gianmaria Melis.

The music program includes the following: The Four Seasons by The Cimento Harmony and Invention, Op. 8 by Antonio Vivaldi; Las Cuatros Estaciones porteñas of Astor Piazzolla.

Although most of his vast output of music is published posthumously, Antonio Vivaldi (Venice 1678 – Vienna, 1741) a period of unrivaled fame, unprecedented, and, soon, reaches across Europe. Surely it must be ascribed the reason for this, especially its world-famous Four Seasons, title of the first of four violin concertos The collection of Harmony and Invention Cimento, which are published in Amsterdam in 1725 and collect, from the start, the ‘ broad support for public and critics, to the point that they are still considered among the most significant pages of program music, compositions, ie, a purely descriptive.
Las Cuatros Estaciones porteñas are composed by Astor Piazzolla (Mar del Plata, 1921 – Buenos Aires, 1992), between 1964 and 1970, initially for his Quintet, in which he played the bandoneon, and are dedicated to the port of Buenos Aires, from which the adjective porteñas. With the seasons, Piazzolla reaches its aesthetic identity and the consecration of his style, through the union of different elements such as tango, classical music and various European jazz rhythms.

The other five events are: Friday, July 27 to 21 on the esplanade in front of the Basilica of St. Just in Oristano, Saturday, July 28 to 21 at the Parco della Musica in Cagliari, Monday, July 30 to 21 in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cabras, Tuesday, July 31 at 21 Arena Mirastelle Carbonia, Wednesday, August 1st at 21:30 Amphitheatre Santa Marina Villanovaforru.
