PUNTODIVISTA FILM FESTIVAL 2012 – SARROCH – 27 TO 29 JULY

Quentin Tarantino presents to all the young American actors as the biggest star in the world along with Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson and Alain Delon, and wanted him at all costs in his latest film “Django Unchained”, arriving in theaters December and loosely based on “Django” that the same Black toured with Sergio Corbucci in 1966.

The great actor of world fame, the long awaited Quentin Tarantino in Italian cinemas in January 2013, it will host the 5th edition of International Film Festival Competition, including film, theater and live music to be held in Sarre, in beautiful Villa Siotto July 27 to 29.

A special edition this time he wants to pay tribute to the great actor in Sardinia, an unforgettable protagonist of extraordinary films whose reputation is not only linked to the cult of the gunfighter roles, but also to the Italian political thriller genre films like “The Day of the Owl” ( awarded the David di Donatello for Best Actor in 1968), “The murder of Matteotti” (1973), “Triumphal March” (1976), and many others.

A tribute and a recognition of his exceptional career and skill, whose manly beauty often considered very “American”, by the look pregnant, glacial and melancholy, it signaled from the beginning to the attention of John Huston, who gave him the role of Abel in the 1965 blockbuster “The Bible”, or as directed by Sergio Corbucci said: << Ford had John Wayne, Clint Eastwood Leone had, I >> Franco Nero.

Once again the festival, directed by Roman Usai, organized by Art’In in collaboration with the Municipality of Sarre – Department of Culture, and the patronage of the Province of Cagliari, the public will not only showcase the best short film in competition from around the world, but also prestigious guests and an important space dedicated to the many ‘views’ of the original trends and new languages, and special place of exchange between professionals, amateurs, professionals interested in cultural cinema. Admission for all three evenings is free.

A program in its fifth year of life continues to bring its gaze beyond the island: three years ago the partnership with Greece and the Mediterranean Festival of Documentary Lavrion, now working with the Province of Milan – Department all ‘ Environment, through the creation of a retrospective of the festival to be held in autumn in the Lombard capital. In October, a call for participation in the competition which will see the involvement of schools with awards in May 2013, and a twinning with the City of Inzago (MI) and the City of Donori.

Over the long weekend July 27 to 29 but will take place three days full of appointments (free admission) dedicated to the film, its actors and national and international short films in competition. 15 short films you can watch, selected by the Artistic and received by the organization in recent months among the hundreds of works by established directors and not made, and young talent from around the world. More than 140 works coming from Iran, Cuba, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy (from all regions, from Sicily to Trentino), and many other countries. He is currently editor of the TG3 and a journalist from 1993-1996 in the publishing group Il Sole 24 Ore.

As a writer has published two novels and four collections of short stories. In 2011 he released self-produced CD entitled Away from the screen, containing nine songs written and arranged by the author.
Last Sunday evening will continue their interesting thoughts and ramblings of cinematic film, company news, sounds, songs, stories, conducted this time by Andrea Frailis, among the most respected journalist of the island.

One of the central points of the festival is four years now, also the analysis of the relationship between live music and films in which to weave the threads of the discussion are the musicians of great national and international prestige: a unique opportunity to listen live to the beauty extraordinary soundtracks and beyond, and to understand how the music has a major role in telling a story through film. Special guests for the musical reinterpretation of historical films this year are the voices of a cappella Vocal Echos, a unique formation of its kind in Sardinia, who will present the play “The soundtrack …. you sing.” A consistent but stylistically varied repertoire, from contemporary to the transcripts for only voices of famous pieces of classical tradition and the Latin-American folklore. Mixture of sounds, rhythms and ideas side by side in a different musical path at any genre, but always without tools, completely replaced by the voices of Alice Madeddu, Tiziana Pani, Eva Scoreboard, Marta Melis, Manolo Pisano, Gabriele Broach, Manuel Cossu and Rodrigo Rojas.

Return to the music of Gianni Coscia, one of the greatest accordionists Italian well known beyond the borders, which will merge with the raids every night of theater fine actress Manuela Loddo Cagliari. For five years (including the edition of 2012) the city is hosting the Festival Sarroch, located in the south of Sardinia, 20 Km from Cagliari. Common in its territory combines harmoniously the breathtaking beauty of wild landscapes in high-tech manufacturing facilities, world-renowned archaeological sites, a pristine marine locations. Puntodivistafilm Festival – 2008 to present
“Puntodivistafilmfestival” is a yearly event where the main aim is to promote film culture and the world revolves around you and appreciate the beauty of the territory of Sarroch hotbed of cultural ferment and considerable potential for the development of the sector tourism in the south west coast, able to convey the broad picture of the town and the surrounding area which is not only industry but also of great archaeological value.

The festival, founded in 2008 and now in its fifth edition, in previous years has given room for comparison between about 500 art works selected from hundreds submitted from around the world and among them there was the presence of original works of great artistic quality made by authors that were awarded at other festivals of international importance such as those of Venice, Monaco, Toronto, Athens. As a showcase film presented in a total of four editions of 80 finalist works of European authors to the large audience (about 8,000 appearances in four years) of about 24 nights (5/6 for each edition).

As a place of exchange between professionals, amateurs, cultural workers have favored the presence of over 40 artists in Sarroch industry experts, with their generous collaboration, have been able to involve the public with great enthusiasm in the various evenings.
