organized: “11 ° WIN THE DONKEYS”, “9 ° PALU VIHINADOS DE SOS” and the “3 ° PROCESSION OF MEDIEVAL SARDINIA” involving: Flag Wavers and Musicians of the City of Candlesticks – Sassari, The delegation of the Palio of the Pacifier Guardavalle – Calabria and the Chariot of “PALU ON” in the evening of July 14, 2012 at 21:00.

The aim is to promote and enhance an animal, the donkey, who in the past was a valuable asset for any family Ollolaese, and make known to a wider audience our country through this event. The show for its originality seems to evoke in miniature the magnificent and famous “Palio”.
The charming and lovely prize held at night, beginning at 21.00 hours in the quaint and unique town of Piazza Marconi in Ollolai, is divided into the eliminatory heats and final
The Palio courses in past years have seen the participation of a large audience and donkeys competed most representative of Sardinia in number by more than 30 per year. This association largely successful, given the importance gained over time from the event, will bring the prize again next month of July.
It ‘s worth mentioning that this Association, in conjunction with the City of Ollolai are twinned with the City and the Pro Loco of Pignola (PZ), where the Palio is held town of donkeys, mules and horses.
This year it is expected the participation of the delegation of the Palio of Gurdavalle Pacifier (CZ) – Calabria, who will compete in our stake to represent the region of Calabria.
The goal of the event is the promotion of the donkey, animal indispensable in the past, as a beast of burden, especially in inaccessible areas, the engine has lost many of its prerogatives. It remains, however, the ability to preserve and enhance the asinine species threatened with extinction and simultaneously develop local economies through a harmonious relationship with the environment and the territory and the total respect of human health and his mental and physical wellbeing.
The donkey is an animal by nature gentle and sincere friend of children, and the embodiment of the slowness and tranquility, but also of meekness, sobriety, humility, qualities rare in today’s world that the association is to preserve .
