The Night of the Poets turns thirty and back to Nora. Four seasons of exile and the festival goes back to the ruins where he was born, with a formula that combines tradition and innovation, Poetry and Theatre.
The thread that unravels this year, from all around the Roman theater, is the madness: the result of profane or mystical impulses, processing ancestral Dionysian imagery but also the daily practice of the poet and actor who is helping We see the world, to look inside ourselves, to play and learn.
And since we’re all in Nora – guests, audience and organizers – Att-actors, the moon hanging in the frame to the theater you can see and hear Caterina Murino, Alessio Boni, Claudio Santamaria, Rossy De Palma, Moni Ovadia, recite prose and verse Gustave Flaubert, Patricia Valduga, Alda Merini.
Or, according to the most intimate and underground routes, along with Colombian director Enrique Vargas, the public will be invited to discover the ancestral rites of the fermentation of wine, while on the beaches, in the light of bonfires, it tells the Iliad and opposite the small church of Saint ‘Efisio or Frau House explodes young fool’s delusion.

More like the idea of the festival, which concentrates in a few days shows, workshops, entertainment activities and interacts with the territory, The Night of the poets in 2012, opens July 13 at Nora with an original production: Salammbô, rewriting of Flaubert’s novel, commissioned the poet Patrizia Valduga, which staged reading is entrusted to the director Valter Caterina Murino Malosti with the protagonist. On 14 July there is the Song of the excluded, agreed to two made by Alessio Boni and Marcello Prayer in honor of the poetess Alda Merini. On July 19, Rossy De Palma, the star of Pedro Almodovar, read his Versos Contrarios in the second reading product for the festival of Nora. On July 20, Claudio Santamaria law, more and Flaubert, Memoirs of a madman on stage accompanied by cellist Francsco Mariozzi, a new original production.

The Festival’s Outside the Walls: anthropology of the theater and workshops
The star of this edition of Night of the poets Enrique Vargas is a Colombian filmmaker who lives in Spain, considered one of the most important interpreters of theater anthropology. With his company, Teatro de los Sentidos transforms the theatrical act in a symbolic practice of a ritual, a theater as a place of perceived and actual physical contact between performers and spectators, Vargas develops the poetics of the emotions, investigates the relationship between language sensory and theatrical creation.
Fermentación is a show that is nourished by the memory of ancestral wine and Dionysian imagery. Led by a group of actors creates an installation-sensory play, in the form of the labyrinth, which is accessed in groups of 30 people, is bound to the memory of the body and the poetry of the senses.
With Fermentacion, the festival moved to the wine growers of Santa Margherita di Pula July 17 to 20. In the days before the show, the Teatro de los Sentidos held a workshop for actors, dancers and teachers aimed among other things, the selection of three young actors for the show.
The Night of the small poets, new to this edition of the Festival, a second workshop, scheduled for July 14 to 17 is assigned circus artist Vivian Virginia, is dedicated to youngsters aged 10 to 14 years and is titled, Spinning, the balloon land. A strange archaeologist around bonfires on the beach between the Trojan War and tells a little … ‘before: it is Dattena Senio, actor narrator, protagonist in the same day of a staged reading of Ovid’s Metamorphoses with Maria Loi. A tale of Calvin provides a starting point in Virginia Viviano in the musical theater circus Founded by Moon, July 19 at the Piazza del Popolo in Pula.
In collaboration with the associazioneCineMania, the Night of the Poets in the archaeological site houses three days, July 16 to 18, a film festival with the theme: Pina, a tribute to the great German choreographer Pina Bausch directed by Wim Wenders, Caesar must die Bear ‘Award at Berlin Film Festival, filmed by the Taviani Brothers with the inmates of the prison to grips with the drama of Shakespeare and Alexander Sokurov’s Faust finally.
Nora Jazz Festival
The Nora Theatre also celebrates three decades of concerts. It does so by launching the first edition of Nora Jazz Festival, the first four evenings of August in the company of the most interesting of the 2012 season. At the opening, August 1, China Moses & Raphael Lemonnier This One’s for Dinah with a tribute to the singer Dinah Washington, made by the daughter of Dee Dee Bridgewater in a duo with French pianist. On August 2, will stage the quartet led by Lars Danielsson (with Tigran Hamasyan on piano, John Parricelli on guitar, Magnus Ostrom on drums), presents the new album Liberetto. On 3 August, the Japanese pianist Hiromi, the great American jazz musician prodigy by Chic Corea, arriving at the Roman theater of Nora with a concerto for piano solo Place to be. Nora Jazz Festival closes Aug. 4 with the largest Brazilian jazz musician Tania Maria.
