SOLIDARITY SUMMER 2012 IN CAGLIARI

The City of Cagliari has prepared activities to support the care of elderly and disabled. Listening and psychological support, enhanced home care with the possibility of immediate intervention. The services are integrated with those of other institutions. The numbers to call. To try to reduce the inconvenience to the weaker sections of the population, with particular reference to elderly and disabled, especially related to the summer period during which the situation may reach critical levels for the climatic conditions and the reduction of parental and social references The Department of Social Policy has prepared a plan of action “Solidarity Summer 2012″.
With these activities, the Administration intends to deal with situations of crisis, provide immediate assistance for home care and protection. The Plan, with its exceptional operations and with the strengthening of existing ones, is integrated with the operating system already provided by the Ministry of Health.
Services of the national toll free number 1500 (open every day from 8 to 18) and that of civil protection, which transmits the temperature to the offices of Social Service, the Town Centre of Solidarity, to reception facilities, working in the Cooperative services ASL and offices that have a list of elderly residents in the city, will be added the following activities: • Listening and counseling by qualified professionals of the “World X” that will answer the telephone number 0706848903 (everyday, including holidays, from 25 June to 9 September with 8,30-11.30 hours and from 14.30 to 19 ); • Expansion of home care service for elderly and disabled with the possibility of immediate intervention provided by the Coop. “Activity Center” (tel / fax 0702339766-0704560188); • mentoring activities carried out by the Coop. “Social Promotion” for intervention in situations of particular complexity reported by the Social Services in collaboration with the mental health of the ASL Cagliari; • Prepared by the Office municipal “Public Network of family carers” (Tel. 0706773805 from Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 12) a list of operators available to respond immediately to requests for assistance from families and people; • Expansion of operations at the “Solidarity Center City” of St. Ignatius 88 Avenue, Office of Social Service (tel. 070666623 Monday to Friday from 9-12 and on Mondays and Thursdays from 15 to 18) for the situations relating to people in serious state of disrepair and in need of emergency; • Availability to urgent, for the elderly, at the “Home for the Elderly Vittorio Emanuele II” substantial assistance in the reception because of unpredictable (tel. 0706776600 – 0706776546 to 0706776528); • Continuation of the activity normally performed by the Offices of Social Services; • Collaboration with the Municipal Police (Radio Centre tel. 070533533 active within 24 hours) for the assistance in emergency and for any reports of risky situations found during normal activities.
These services will be integrated with those already offered by other institutions that work with the Local Authority for a rapid and effective assistance. And ‘in fact, confirmed the availability of the ASL Cagliari for swift action on the part of the Evaluation Geographic, for placements in nursing homes, and Division of Geriatrics, Hospital SS. Trinity to secure the resignation and agreed between health and social services, to ensure the fragile subject to appropriate attention and care at home or at a suitable residential facility. The same integrated model will be used also with the Department of Mental Health ASL.
