Riparte con una prima assoluta il XXIII^ Festival Internazionale di Musica Vocale Concordia Vocis. Come nelle precedenti edizioni il via alla rassegna è stato dato da formazioni al debutto sui palcoscenici sardi, la kermesse dedicata al bel canto organizzata dal C.U.M. (Centro Universitario Musicale di Cagliari), si apre con il “Sjaella Ensemble Vocale“.
La formazione composta da sei giovani cantanti professioniste tedesche, taglia il nastro inaugurale del XXIII Festival Concordia Vocis con il concerto in programma mercoledì 17 settembre alle ore 20,45 tra le suggestive pareti della Chiesa rinascimentale di Sant’Agostino a Cagliari (ingresso lato Largo Carlo Felice e/o Via Baylle).
Anno dopo anno, con il susseguirsi delle edizioni, la prima volta di “Concordia Vocis” risale al ’92 la manifestazione cresciuta nel grembo del C.U.M. presieduto e diretto da Claudio Serra, è diventata nel corso degli anni un punto di riferimento per gli appassionati del canto a cappella ritagliandosi inoltre, un ruolo di prestigio nel panorama musicale isolano e non solo, per qualità, spessore delle proposte e per aver ospitato sempre nuovi interpreti, in alcuni casi vere e proprie prime internazionali. Proprio gli importanti trascorsi della kermesse hanno dato uno stimolo in più per proporre l’edizione numero 23 senza piegarsi alle numerose difficoltà: quelle imposte dai notevoli tagli ai finanziamenti alla cultura e dalla grossa crisi economica che attanaglia larghe fasce della società italiana. Ma soprattutto per lo staff organizzativo è diventato prioritario non disperdere il grande patrimonio culturale accumulato in oltre due decadi di lavoro e mantenere sempre più vivo il rapporto con l’appassionato pubblico di Concordia Vocis.
Questo XXIII viaggio tra gli spartiti della musica corale, inoltre è nato con la particolare dedica a un grande amico del festival scomparso di recente: Dolf Rabus, figura di riferimento tra gli addetti ai lavori e già fondatore del Concorso Internazionale di Marktoberdorf, del Festival Internazionale di Musica Sacra, nonché del Choral Festival Network – CFN. cui aderiscono 27 organizzazioni dei cinque continenti, suddivise fra Festival e Concorsi e in questo organismo l’Italia è rappresentata dal Festival cagliaritano e dal Concorso Internazionale Guido d’Arezzo di Arezzo.
Per l’occasione del concerto di mercoledì 17 settembre nella monumentale Chiesa di Sant’Agostino in Via Baylle nello storico quartiere della Marina, il Sjaella Ensemble Vocale sarà preceduto e introdotto, da una breve performance dei padroni di casa i cagliaritani “Echos Vocal Ensemble del Coro Polifonico del C.U.M.” Il gruppo composto da Alice Madeddu, Eva Pagella, Marta Melis, Tiziana Pani, Manuel Cossu, Riccardo Buffa, Manolo Pisano e Rodrigo Rojas Benitez – reduci dalla partecipazione lo scorso luglio a Gorizia, al 53 Concorso Internazionale di Canto Corale “Seghizzi e al 26 Grand Prix, ottenendo ottimi risultati e riconoscimenti: 2 premio nella categoria Jazz/musica leggera, 3 premio categorie unificate, il Premio del pubblico e infine il 5 premio nel Grand Prix – eseguirà un breve repertorio che abbraccia alcune composizioni di Manuel Cossu come “Foglia d’argento”, “Irish Coffee” la recente “Albore”, e ancora le indimenticabili note di brani pop, jazz e folk dei più celebri compositori internazionali.
Terminata la performance degli Echos, il palcoscenico è riservato alle sei giovani donne del Sjaella Ensemble Vocale (il nome Sjaella è derivato da una parola scandinava che significa “anima”), Helene Erben (soprano), Marie Fenscke (soprano), Franziska Eberhardt (soprano), Felicitas Erben (alto), Marie Charlotte Seidel (mezzo-soprano/alto), Viola Blache (alto/contralto). Per l’occasione dell’appuntamento cagliaritano le sei cantanti che fin dal loro esordio si sono distinte per la facilità con cui riescono a interpretare repertori estremamente vari, dalla musica pop, agli standard jazz, dalle composizioni proprie agli impegnativi spartiti della musica sacra di ispirazione religiosa e profana, eseguiranno per il pubblico del Concordia Vocis un programma interamente riservato ai canti sacri di varie epoche.

Il giorno successivo Helene Erben, Marie Fenscke, Franziska Eberhardt, Felicitas Erben, Marie Charlotte Seidel e Viola Blache proseguiranno la loro breve tournèe sarda nel Sulcis per il concerto del “Sjaella Ensemble Vocale” in programma giovedì 18 settembre alle ore 20,45 al Teatro Electra di Iglesias. Nella città mineraria eseguiranno il medesimo repertorio proposta a Cagliari.
L’edizione 2014 di Concordia Vocis è organizzata dal C.U.M. con il contributo della Presidenza del Consiglio e della Giunta Regionale, dei Comuni di Cagliari, Tortolì e Iglesias.

The next day Helene Erben, Marie Fenscke, Franziska Eberhardt, Felicitas Erben, Marie Charlotte Seidel and Viola Blache continue their short tour in Sardinia Sulcis for the concert “Sjaella Vocal Ensemble” scheduled for Thursday, September 18 at 20.45 at the Teatro Electra Iglesias. In the mining town perform the same repertoire proposal to Cagliari.
The 2014 edition is organized by Concordia Vocis CUM with the support of the Presidency of the Council and the Regional Council, the municipalities of Cagliari and Tortoli Iglesias.
