Continuano i laboratori estivi organizzati dai Musei Civici di Cagliari, in collaborazione con l’Associazione Culturale Orientare, e riservati al pubblico dei più piccoli.
Martedì 26 agosto, alle ore 18.00, l’appuntamento è al Museo d’Arte Siamese “Stefano Cardu”.
Il fascino dell’avventurosa vita di Stefano Cardu, il mistero dell’Oriente, dell’esotico e lontano mondo in cui visse per tanti anni, suggeriscono un interessante parallelismo tra la biografia del collezionista, le opere che egli raccolse e i romanzi di Emilio Salgari. Lo scrittore, contemporaneo di Stefano Cardu, in realtà non viaggiò mai, eppure seppe evocare con incredibile dovizia di particolari una realtà così lontana, saccheggiando biblioteche, divorando enciclopedie, racconti e diari di viaggio. Stefano Cardu viaggiò veramente e dopo anni di navigazione arrivò a Bangkok, da dove poté spostarsi in India, Cina, Giappone e Malesia. Da questi luoghi meravigliosi il munifico donatore riportò un immenso tesoro, oggi esposto al Museo: argenti preziosi, porcellane raffinatissime, avori sapientemente intagliati, armi appartenute ad alti dignitari, a samurai e persino a re. Tra le armi da cintura i piccoli visitatori potranno riconoscere anche il Kriss, l’arma preferita da Sandokan.
La visita guidata al museo sarĂ supportata dalla lettura di brani tratti dai piĂą celebri libri di Salgari.

Continue the summer workshops organized by the Civic Museums of Cagliari, in collaboration with the Cultural Association Orient, and reserved to the public of the smallest.
Tuesday, August 26, at 18.00, the appointment is at the Art Museum Siamese “Stefano Cardu.”
The charm of the adventurous life of Stephen Cardu, the mystery of the Orient, the exotic and distant world in which he lived for many years, suggests an interesting parallel between the biography of the collector, the works that he collected and the novels of Emilio Salgari. The writer, a contemporary of Stephen Cardu actually never traveled, yet was able to evoke with an incredible wealth of detail a reality so far, looting libraries, devouring encyclopedias, short stories and travelogues. Stefano Cardu really traveled and after years of sailing he arrived in Bangkok, where he could move in India, China, Japan and Malaysia. From these wonderful places the munificent donor brought an immense treasure, now on display at the Museum: silver precious, refined porcelain, expertly carved ivories, weapons belonged to dignitaries, a samurai and even a king. Among the weapons belt the young visitors will be able to recognize the Kriss, the weapon of choice by Sandokan.
The guided tour of the museum will be supported by the reading of excerpts from the most celebrated books of Salgari.
