La rassegna Nottetempo 2014, organizzata da CINEMANIA, in collaborazione con l’Assessorato
alla Cultura del Comune di Cagliari e con il Centro della Cultura Contadina, Villa Muscas – propone
da VENERDÌ 11 LUGLIO alle ore 21.30, nella suggestiva corte di Villa Muscas, un cartellone
estivo con i grandi film d’autore e con una programmazione attenta il più possibile alla qualità dei film.

Film apparsi durante la stagione appena trascorsa e magari non valorizzati in pieno, assieme a
pellicole ingiustamente trascurate dalle logiche commerciali delle grandi case di distribuzione, ma
anche film d’annata, meritevoli di essere riproposti per la loro particolare importanza.

Sono previsti alcuni incontri con gli autori.

La rassegna andrà avanti nei mesi di luglio e di agosto, tutti i giorni alle 21.30; ogni film sarà in
programma due giorni – l’ingresso è di 5 Euro.

Nel giugno del 2010 migliaia di pastori provenienti da ogni parte della Sardegna si riuniscono nel Movimento Pastori Sardi per dar luogo a una protesta clamorosa. Durante una lunga estate i pastori invadono porti, aeroporti, strade, inondano le vie del capoluogo Cagliari, occupano il palazzo della Regione per cercare di ottenere dignità e un giusto prezzo per il loro prodotto principale: il latte. Questo film, però, non è la cronaca di quegli eventi, ma un viaggio inedito, attraverso le ragioni dei pastori e la loro realtà quotidiana, alla ricerca delle origini della protesta.
“Capo e Croce” racconta una storia di lavoro, giustizia e dignità.

Cecil Gaines ha imparato il mestiere di domestico nella Georgia degli anni Venti e nella tenuta dell’uomo che ha ucciso barbaramente suo padre in un campo di cotone. Riservato e (ben) educato nelle case dei bianchi, approda a Washington, dove sposa Gloria, diventa padre di Louis e Charlie e viene assunto come maggiordomo alla Casa Bianca. Orgoglioso della sua famiglia e appagato dal proprio destino, Cecil sta. Resta immobile nella vita come lungo le pareti della stanza Ovale, dove serve il tè e soddisfa le richieste dei suoi presidenti. Fuori intanto il mondo si muove, il mondo si arrabbia, il mondo sta cambiando. In quel territorio infiammato milita il suo primogenito, deciso a lottare per i diritti della sua gente, resistendo al fianco di Martin Luther King o ‘armandosi’ al braccio di Malcolm X.

L’ATTORE JACOPO CULLIN INCONTRA IL PUBBLICO

L’Atletico Pabarile, la squadra più scarsa della terza categoria sarda, viene umiliata come ogni anno dal Montecrastu, la squadra guidata da Brai (Alessio di Clemente), arrogante fazendero abituato a vessare i peones dell’Atletico in quanto padrone delle campagne. Il ritorno in paese del giovane emigrato Matzutzi (Jacopo Cullin) rivoluziona gli equilibri del campionato e l’Atletico Pabarile comincia a vincere una partita dopo l’altra, grazie alle prodezze del suo novello fuoriclasse. Le vicende delle due squadre si alternano con l’ascesa professionale di Cruciani (Stefano Accorsi), ambizioso arbitro ai massimi livelli internazionali, nonché con la sottotrama di due cugini calciatori del Montecrastu, coinvolti in una faida legata ai codici arcaici della pastorizia. Matzutzi riesce a fare breccia nel cuore di Miranda (Geppi Cucciari), la figlia dell’allenatore cieco Prospero (Benito Urgu), mentre l’arbitro europeo Cruciani si lascia coinvolgere in una vicenda di corruzione che lo porterà in un attimo dalle stelle alle stalle: viene infatti colto in flagrante ed esiliato per punizione negli inferi della terza categoria sarda.

Sin da quando Guillaume è bambino, tutti – in particolar modo la madre lo considerano diverso da com’è. La sua tragicomica battaglia dura circa trent’anni, finchè incontra quella che diventerà la seconda donna più importante della sua vita. Durante la ricerca della sua identità e della sua voce, troverà il suo sul palcoscenico del mondo.

Gustave è il leggendario concierge di un lussuoso e famoso albergo europeo tra le due guerre mondiali, nella città immaginaria di Zubrowka. L’uomo diventa amico di uno dei suoi collaboratori più giovani, Zero Moustafa, un portiere immigrato, il quale crescerà fino a diventare il suo protetto. La storia coinvolge il furto e il recupero di un dipinto rinascimentale inestimabile e la battaglia per un enorme patrimonio di famiglia.

Siamo nella Germania della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, Liesel, ragazzina piuttosto vivace, non fa vita facile a scuola; viene derisa dai compagni di classe perché non sa leggere. Con grande determinazione, è tuttavia decisa a cambiare la situazione e trova un valido alleato nel suo papà adottivo. La sua passione per la lettura cresce a tal punto da spronarla a salvare i libri dai roghi che i militari nazisti appiccano durante le loro rappresaglie e a rubarli dalle biblioteche per condividerli con il ragazzo ebreo che i suoi genitori adottivi cercano di salvare nel loro sottoscala.

Serge Tanneur, un tempo grande attore di teatro, si è ritirato da qualche tempo a vita privata. Ha iniziato a condurre una vita tranquilla, tra la solitudine dell’Île de Ré e le lunghe passeggiate in bicicletta. Quando il collega attore Gauthier Valence, all’apice della propria corriera, gli offre il ruolo del protagonista nel Misantropo di Molière, Gauthier non riesce a rifiutare, riflettendo su come egli stesso negli ultimi tre anni sia diventato come il personaggio chiamato a interpretare. Ma appena inizia a provare, complice anche l’arrivo di una misteriosa italiana, comincia a sentire su di sé molta pressione. Che forse non sia il caso di tornare davvero in scena?

Woody Grant ha tanti anni, qualche debito e la certezza di aver vinto un milione di dollari alla lotteria. Ostinato a ritirare la vincita in un ufficio del Nebraska, Woody si avvia a piedi dalle strade del Montana. Fermato dalla polizia, viene ‘recuperato’ da David, figlio minore occupato in un negozio di elettrodomestici. Sensibile al desiderio paterno e dopo aver cercato senza successo di dissuaderlo, decide di accompagnarlo a Lincoln. Contro il parere della madre e del fratello Ross, David intraprende il viaggio col padre, assecondando i suoi capricci e tuffandosi nel suo passato. Nel percorso, interrotto da soste e intermezzi nella cittadina natale di Woody, David scoprirà i piccoli sogni del padre, le speranze svanite, gli amori mai dimenticati, i nemici mai battuti, che adesso chiedono il conto. Molte birre dopo arriveranno a destinazione più ‘ricchi’ di quando sono partiti.

Una sera, al corso, balla con una nuova venuta, Alice, che il giorno dopo incontra Alice presso la sala visite della prigione: fa visita a due prigionieri, uno è suo marito, l’altro il suo amante.

Arrivato in Messico scopre l’esistenza di farmaci efficaci ma non approvati negli Stati Uniti: Ron inizia una battaglia legale con il proprio Paese per permettere alle altre persone di potersi curare…

Divorziata da anni con due figli ormai adulti, un nipote e un vicino molesto, Gloria cerca un nuovo equilibrio in feste, eventi serali e discoteche nelle quali poter incontrare qualcuno della propria età, un nuovo fidanzato. Quando però sembra averlo trovato questi si rivela inaffidabile, misterioso e poco propenso a tener fede a quel che dice.

La storia vera di un insolito plotone composto da sette direttori di musei, curatori e storici dell’arte incaricati da Roosvelt, durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, di trovare e mettere in salvo le opere che i nazisti rubavano. I Monuments Men si ritrovano impegnati in una corsa contro il tempo per evitare la distruzione di oltre 1000 anni di cultura.

The Knight Bus Review, 2014, organized by CINEMANIA, in collaboration with the Department
Culture of the City of Cagliari and the Peasant Culture Center, Villa Muscas – suggests
by Friday, July 11 at 21.30, in the picturesque courtyard of Villa Muscas, a billboard
summer with the great art films and with careful planning as much as possible the quality of the film.

Movies appeared during the past season and maybe not exploited in full, together with
unjustly neglected films from the commercial logic of the great houses of the distribution, but
also vintage film, deserve to be presented for their particular importance.

There are some meetings with authors.

The exhibition will continue in the months of July and August, daily at 21:30; each film will be
scheduled two days – admission is € 5.

In June 2010 thousands of pastors from all over Sardinia Sardis Pastors gather in the Movement to result in a resounding protest. During a long summer the shepherds invade ports, airports, roads, flood the streets of the capital Cagliari, occupy the palace of the region to try to achieve dignity and a fair price for their main product: milk. This film, however, is not the record of those events, but an unusual journey through the reasons for the pastors and their daily reality, in search of the origins of the protest.
“Cape Cross” tells a story of labor, justice and dignity.
