Sabato 7 Giugno 2014 alle 19.00 la Lampisteria del Museo del Carbone ospita il terzo evento del Vesna Festival, il concerto del trio ethno-jazz Yavana composto da Rashmi Bhatt (Gujarat, India) alla tabla, Marc Egea (Catalunya, Spagna) alla ghironda, Dario Elia (Sardegna, Italia) alla chitarra e live electronics. L’ingresso è gratuito.

Come musicista, cantante, compositore e produttore, Dario Elia rappresenta una parte importante della scena musicale sperimentale italiana. I suoi lavori spaziano dall’avant-garde jazz all’ambient art-rock, dalla sound art alla live electronics. Nel 2006 ha costituito la casa di produzione VesnaHaus. Una lunga serie di collaborazioni internazionali hanno trasformato VesnaHaus in un movimento di artisti spontaneo, imprevedibile e fortemente eterogeneo. Negli ultimi anni, Dario Elia ha tenuto performance in Giappone, Russia, Serbia, Spagna, Thailandia e Italia.

Il musicista catalano Marc Egea si muove con eleganza dalle composizioni razionali dei Kaulakau alla pura improvvisazione, mostrando un approccio straordinariamente innovativo, anche sul piano strettamente sonoro, su uno strumento antico come la ghironda. L’album solista Four Elements (2010) e In Fabula (2010) con i Kaulakau sono due gemme da non perdere.

Nato in Gujarat, India, Rashmi Bhatt è cresciuto in un ambiente permeato da danza, teatro e musica indiana e ha studiato le percussioni. Trasferitosi in Europa svolge la sua principale attività come percussionista tenendo concerti in Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Danimarca, Svezia, Spagna e Italia e collabora alle iniziative culturali dell’Ambasciata dell’India a Roma. Rashmi Bhatt ha scelto l’Italia come residenza preferita in Europa e tiene regolarmente concerti, seminari e lezioni sulla musica indiana (Francia e Italia) anche presso Conservatori. Negli ultimi anni, la ricerca principale di Rashmi è diventata quella di scoprire nuove culture e di fonderle all’essenza della sua cultura; di unire i Popoli con un linguaggio unico universale della musica.
