Una mostra sull’Eredità Lenci segue in modo naturale l’esposizione del 2012 Lenci. Ceramiche in Sardegna, ospitata anche questa nei suggestivi spazi del Teatro Civico di Castello a Cagliari.

Approfondimento, rapportato al solo ambito regionale, che sonda i modi nei quali molti ceramisti, artisti e decoratori, precedentemente impegnati all’interno della Lenci, aprendo le loro manifatture – spinti in questo dalla crisi dei primi anni Trenta che mise in ginocchio la grande fabbrica torinese – proseguirono l’attività ceramica, portandosi dietro il taglio originario. “Eredità” evidente nelle tecniche come nei soggetti. E, tema che qui soprattutto interessa, su quel dare ancora più spazio alla richiesta regionalista varata dalla Lenci che, a ben guardare il numero dei modelli reperiti, fu particolarmente insistita sulla sardità.

Non si ha la pretesa che questa prima ricognizione possa essere esaustiva, semmai che possa suggerire un inizio di percorso per un’approfondita futura indagine. Qui si dà cenno, attraverso una selezione di manufatti reperiti sul territorio isolano – e di Cagliari in particolare – che mostrano bene l’offerta di mercato delle fabbriche gemmate dalla Lenci, spesso orientate a stare in piedi assecondando i desideri del pubblico, a discapito talvolta della coerenza qualitativa, sempre alta però sul piano tecnico.

Tuttavia l’insieme dei modelli sardi reperito – molti sono gli inediti in mostra – sortisce un discreto ventaglio di esiti iconografici, utile al racconto del “come apparivamo oltremare”, fatta eccezione per la manifattura fondata da Alessandro Mola, sardo di Cagliari, che ha plasmato la sua produzione su modelli dai caratteri indotti, “lencisti”, di buon successo anche nell’isola.
