Alla scoperta di Stampace, tra cripte e chiese, per assaporare l’intrinseca storia di uno dei più caratteristici quartieri di Cagliari. Sarà un sabato 24 Maggioalla scoperta della nostra adorata storia, da tramandare ai posteri…

ALLA SCOPERTA DELLE CHIESE STORICHE E IPOGEI DI STAMPACE E DELLA MARINA

Passeggiando a Stampace con Sardegna SotterraneaE’ questo lo spirito dell’evento ideato dall’Associazione Sardegna Sotterranea e che si terrà Sabato 24 maggio, con appuntamento a Cagliari alle ore 15,30 in piazza Matteotti (pressi la poco nota statua di Giuseppe Verdi).

Dopo il raduno dei partecipanti, la passeggiata nella storia si snoderà tra le antiche costruzioni del quartiere che, con molta probabilità, deve il suo nome alle innumerevoli cavità sotterranea.

Da “stampu”, che significa “buco” o, appunto, cavità. A proposito di sotterranei, verranno infatti visitati alcuni ipogei della zona: la cripta di Sant’Efisio, scavata nella dura roccia, ci introdurrà alla storia del Santo martire Efisio. Che l’Arciconfraternita del Gonfalone, racconterà per noi. Presenzieranno anche scrittori e poeti. E reduci della seconda guerra mondiale.

Spazio anche per la visita delle gallerie sotterranee del Bastione del Balice, ricche di leggende. Non solo: l’itinerario consentirà di riscoprire la storia di chiese scomparse, come quelle di Via San Giorgio, il Convento di Sant’Agostino (occultato dal Palazzo Accardo).

Le bellezze e gli angoli meno noti rivivranno nel citare la storia della chiesa e della cripta del Santo Sepolcro, l’ex Chiesa di Santa Lucia, le leggende di Donna Violante Carroz ed il suo trascorso nel Convento di San Francesco a Stampace.

Ripercorreremo acnhe la storia dei camposanti cagliaritani, allorquando le cripte accolsero i defunti non essenso ancora nati, nel 1600, i veri e propri cimiteri.

Tra aneddotti e curiosità, verrà illustrata la storia dell’Ospedale civile, opera del grande architetto Gaetano Cima e quella, che affonda nella storia, del preesistente ospedale di Sant’Antonio in via Manno, oramai irriconoscibile.

Ci attendono argomenti di grande fascino e suggestione, da scoprire strada facendo, passo dopo passo, anche con le vostre domande.

DISCOVERING THE HISTORIC CHURCHES AND hypogea STAMPACE AND MARINA

Walking in Sardinia with Stampace SotterraneaE ‘ This is the spirit of the event created by the Underground and Sardinia which will be held Saturday, May 24 , by appointment in Cagliari at 15.30 in Piazza Matteotti ( near the little-known statue of Giuseppe Verdi ) .
