Venerdì 14 marzo alle 18,30 al SEARCH si inaugura la mostra quando tutto era sotto casa
Il commercio a Cagliari: uno sguardo sul passato per immaginare il futuro
Una mostra partecipata che, con il contributo di tutti, illustra le vicende del commercio a
Cagliari dalla metà dell’Ottocento alla metà del Novecento e le relative influenze nazionali e
internazionali che la città andava assorbendo, tali da inserirla nel novero delle città di respiro
europeo. Le contaminazioni commerciali, sociali e culturali della nuova stagione della città
borghese, hanno contribuito in maniera significativa all’orditura su cui Cagliari trova ancor oggi le ragioni fondanti della sua natura e sulle quali può basare la candidatura a Cagliari Capitale Europea della Cultura 2019.
La partecipazione dei commercianti, dei cittadini e delle istituzioni ha contribuito ad arricchire il percorso espositivo integrando la documentazione dell’Archivio Storico comunale.
Documenti, fotografie, oggetti e altri materiali esposti rievocano il mondo delle attività commerciali cittadine, le atmosfere delle vecchie botteghe e dei lussuosi negozi del centro, il lavoro dei piccoli e dei grandi commercianti che hanno operato e ancora operano in Città.
Quando tutto era sotto casa… era il tempo in cui bastava uscire dal portone della propria
casa per trovare la bottega di alimentari, la latteria, l’ortolano, la drogheria profumata di spezie e di saponi, la merceria, la cartoleria; il tempo dei prestigiosi negozi del “centro” per gli acquisti delle occasioni importanti della vita, dunque uno sguardo al passato per capire meglio il presente, un impulso per stimolare la riflessione, il dibattito, l’incubazione di idee e progetti in grado di affrontare le sfide del mercato di oggi.
La mostra, curata da Anna Maria Montaldo, è stata realizzata dai Musei Civici, Archivio
Storico e Biblioteche Comunali di Cagliari.

The trade in Cagliari : a look into the past to imagine the future
A show that subsidiary , with the contribution of all, discusses the history of the trade in
Cagliari from the mid-nineteenth century to the mid- twentieth century and its influence national and
International that the city was absorbing , such that it fits into the category of the cities of breath
Europe. The contamination commercial, social and cultural rights of the new season in the city
bourgeois , have contributed significantly all’orditura on which Cagliari is still the founding reasons of its nature and which may be based on the application in Cagliari European Capital of Culture 2019.
The participation of merchants , citizens and institutions has contributed to enrich the exhibition by integrating the documentation of the Historical City .
Documents, photographs , objects and other materials exposed to evoke the world of business districts , the atmosphere of the old shops and luxury shopping center , the work of small and large traders who have worked and still work in the City.
When everything was under house … it was the time when it was enough to get out the front door of their
home to find the grocery store , the dairy, the gardener, the grocery fragrant spices and soaps, haberdashery , stationery , and the time the prestigious shops of the “center ” for the purchase of the important occasions of life, therefore one look to the past to better understand the present , one pulse to stimulate debate, discussion , incubation of ideas and projects that can meet the challenges of today’s market .

Historic and Municipal Libraries of Cagliari.
