Lo spettacolo.

La pièce prende corpo attraversando un lungo periodo di documentazione e nove mesi di interviste. È dunque una storia reale fatta di nomi, mogli, posti di lavoro, figli, amicizie, quella che si svolge davanti al pubblico in una scena scarna fatta di segni brevi ed essenziali. Segni che non lusingano la poesia, ma si impongono come snodi freddi e reali di una storia-vita, che “accadendo” sul palcoscenico racconta la claustrofobia ciclica della dipendenza.

Ciò che si nota innanzitutto in questo lavoro teatrale è la direzione verso la quale si muove: non tanto la denuncia pura e semplice, ma la sensibilizzazione nei confronti di una drammatica realtà, mostrando attraverso un linguaggio teatrale, accessibile, diretto, i rischi, i segnali, le tappe della caduta e le sue conseguenze.

Lo spettacolo porta davanti a chi guarda la storia di un giocatore di videopoker. Una storia “vera”, fatta di decine di storie vere. La storia di un solo giocatore scelto come simbolo di questa, che non è affatto una nuova malattia del terzo millennio, ma una patologia “riconosciuta” da quasi trent’anni dalla comunità scientifica internazionale.

Per questo ho accettato di presentare questo spettacolo teatrale, perché dice chiaramente che qualsiasi tipo di gioco d’azzardo può portare alla dipendenza proprio come il tabacco, l’eroina e l’alcool. Perché attraverso il teatro e le sue immagini, i suoi suoni, le sue parole, lo spettacolo mostra in modo efficace la realtà nella quale, senza neanche accorgersi del come, si può scoprire se stessi o il proprio familiare.

In questo lavoro sembrano ugualmente coabitare il punto di vista dell’autore e la fedeltà documentale, percorsi dalla stessa tensione di impegno civile.

Attraverso esperienze come questa si può aiutare non il “proibizionismo”, ma la comprensione che il gioco d’azzardo patologico è una malattia grave, facendo entrare questo concetto semplice dentro al nostro patrimonio culturale, ovvero favorendo, attraverso una visione critica del fenomeno, lo sviluppo di una cultura che sappia distinguere, semplicemente, il gioco dall’azzardo.

The play takes shape through a long period of documentation and nine months of interviews. It is therefore a real story made ​​up of names , wives, jobs, children , friendships, one that takes place before the public in a scene made ​​of thin short signs and essential . Signs that do not flatter the poem, but stand out as cold joints and a real – life story , that ” happening ” on the stage tells the claustrophobia of the cyclic dependency.

What you notice first in this play is the direction in which it moves , not so much a complaint , pure and simple , but the awareness of a tragic reality , showing through a theatrical language , accessible , direct, risks, signals , the stages of the fall and its consequences.

The show brings the viewer in front of the story of a video poker player . A story ” true” , made up of dozens of true stories. The story of one player chosen as a symbol of this , which is not a new disease of the third millennium , but a disease ” recognized ” for almost thirty years from the international scientific community.

That’s why I agreed to present this play, because it clearly says that any type of gambling can lead to addiction like tobacco, heroin and alcohol . Because through the theater and its images, its sounds , its words , the show displays effectively the reality in which , without even realizing of how, you can find yourself or your family .

In this work seem equally cohabit the point of view of the author and the document fidelity , paths with the same voltage of civil commitment.

Through experiences like this you can not help the ” prohibition ” , but understanding that pathological gambling is a serious disease , letting this simple concept in our cultural heritage , which is encouraging , through a critical view of the phenomenon, the development of a culture that knows how to distinguish , simply , the game dall’azzardo .
