L’idea di affrontare la famosissima fiaba di Andersen, nasce dalla voglia di ridicolizzare un potere che dovrebbe governare e rappresentare e che invece si ripiega nel suo narcisismo, richiedendo sempre nuove risorse economiche per essere alimentato.
Nessuno dei tre personaggi, l’Imperatore, la Regina e il sarto truffatore, è un’anima pura. Tutti sono vessatori degli altri e vittime al tempo stesso, fino a disegnare una corte grottesca in cui regna sovrano l’individualismo.
Nella mia storia ho immaginato che il sarto truffatore fosse dapprima un contadino a cui il potere dell’Imperatore aveva tolto la terra e che poi si trasforma in un truffatore per farsi rimborsare il maltolto, inventando il raggiro della stoffa invisibile. A questo Imperatore poco acuto ho affiancato una Regina avida, il cui unico pensiero è accumulare denaro e che contrasta continuamente le scelte vanitose e dispendiosoe del marito. I due si uniscono solo in caso di interesse o di pericolo. La legge “occhio per occhio, dente per dente” viene messa in ridicolo e fa collezionare al sarto tante botte da parte della Regina.
Lo spettacolo affronta tutti questi temi in maniera leggera, grottesca e divertente, attraverso un serrato montaggio delle azioni dove i personaggi si intrecciano tra loro in un gioco continuo sullo sfondo di una scena che proviene dal mondo delle illustrazioni.

None of the three characters , the Emperor, the Queen and the tailor crook , is a pure soul . All are victims of harassment of others and at the same time , to draw a grotesque court where individualism reigns supreme .
In my story, I imagined that the tailor crook was at first a farmer to whom the power of the Emperor had removed the earth, and that then turns into a crook to obtain reimbursement of the stolen goods , inventing the invisible fabric of deception . At this sharp little Emperor I joined a greedy Queen , whose only thought is to accumulate money and continually contrasts the choices vain and dispendiosoe of her husband. The two are joined only in the event of interest or danger. The law ” an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” is ridiculed and does collect to tailor many blows from the Queen .
The show tackles all these issues in a light , grotesque and funny, with a tight fitting actions where the characters are interwoven with each other in a continuous game against the background of a scene that comes from the world of illustrations .
