Love Retrò ha il piacere di presentarvi venerdì 6 dicembre a partire dalle 18:30 Pieces of Me: “Beyond Memories” di Valentina Daga a cura di Davide Mariani. La mostra, tenutasi all’interno della rassegna Pieces of Me lo scorso ottobre presso le Messaggerie Sarde di Sassari, fa ora tappa all’interno del Fashion Store di Via V. Sulis di Cagliari fino al 28 dicembre.

Pieces of Me è un progetto culturale che nasce con l’intento di far dialogare due ambiti distinti: quello dell’arte contemporanea e quello della moda, con la finalità di innestare un’interazione tra gli articoli di moda che caratterizzano il punto vendita e le opere dell’artista. L’arte e la moda hanno spesso percorso strade parallele fino ad arrivare in diverse occasioni ad incontrarsi dando vita a risultati interessanti. Questa tendenza è confermata dalla crescente considerazione da parte delle istituzioni museali verso tali contaminazioni; sono innumerevoli infatti le mostre che negli ultimi dieci anni hanno affrontato il rapporto tra arte e moda. Il fenomeno risulta essere inoltre in continuo aumento anche presso le case di moda e Fashion Store che sempre più spesso sponsorizzano opere e installazioni, ospitano mostre e affidano ad artisti il restyling del loro brand con l’intento di rendere culturalmente più interessanti e prestigiose le loro attività.

La rassegna intende promuovere giovani artisti tramite una serie di esposizioni personali attraverso frammenti della loro ricerca (da qui il titolo Pieces of Me – Pezzi di Me). La mostra Beyond Memories sarà accompagnata da un flyer informativo progettato dall’artista il quale verrà distribuito gratuitamente ai visitatori durante l’opening dell’evento.

Beyond Memories // Anacronismi emozionali.
La ricerca artistica di Valentina Daga si è incentrata per lungo tempo prevalentemente sul mezzo espressivo pittorico con opere a metà strada tra il figurativo e l’astrazione. Nella serie Beyond Memories, pur restando fedele a quel delicato equilibrio allo stesso tempo intimo e nostalgico che ha identificato la sua produzione precedente, emergono altre dimensioni comunicative.
Attraverso la rielaborazione dei suoi ricordi, tratti da antiche foto di famiglia, riesamina il suo passato alterandone la dimensione temporale, costruendo così uno scenario dominato dalla sospensione e dal silenzio. Le opere presenti sono composte da diversi strati di pvc trasparente, ognuno dei quali riporta un’immagine tratta da suoi precedenti lavori pittorici, che viene rielaborata digitalmente inserendo figure isolate estrapolate da vecchie foto, dando così vita ad un’inedita soluzione visiva.
Restano i lontani orizzonti sospesi dei paesaggi con la stessa intensità, ma la natura non è più l’indiscussa protagonista del campo visivo. In questa nuova serie compaiono infatti sagome senza volto che attribuiscono un senso di tensione e ambiguità alla narrazione. Il legame con il passato viene evocato dai titoli delle opere, deliberatamente ispirati da ciò che l’artista trova scritto dietro o sotto ad ognuna di esse: appunti, dediche, date (usanza tipica delle generazioni passate).
L’approccio intimo, quasi colloquiale, le consente di creare nuovi dialoghi con i personaggi rappresentati, generando degli anacronismi emozionali. Daga, infatti, trasporta idealmente le persone a lei care nella sua personale dimensione immaginaria, creata negli anni attraverso i suoi emblematici paesaggi.

Valentina Daga, (Sassari, 1978) vive e lavora a Sassari. Diplomatasi all’Istituto d’Arte Filippo Figari a Sassari, nel 2009 consegue il diploma di pittura presso l’Accademia delle Belle Arti Mario Sironi di Sassari.

Love Retro is pleased to present Friday, December 6th from 18:30 Pieces of Me : “Beyond Memories” by Valentina Dagger by Davide Mariani . The exhibition , held in the exhibition Pieces of Me last October at the Messaggerie Sardinian Sassari ago now stop in the Fashion Store in Via V. Sulis Cagliari until December 28 .

Pieces of Me is a cultural project that was created with the intent to communicate two different spheres : that of contemporary art and fashion worlds , with the aim to engage an interaction between fashion items that characterize the point of sale and works by the artist . The art and fashion often have parallel roads path until you get to meet on several occasions giving rise to interesting results. This trend is confirmed by the increasing consideration by the museums to these contaminants, but are in fact numerous exhibitions over the last ten years have addressed the relationship between art and fashion. The phenomenon is also being increasingly used in the fashion houses and Fashion Store that more and more often sponsor works and installations , hosting exhibitions and artists rely on the redesign of their brand with the intention of making the most culturally interesting and prestigious their activities .

The festival aims to promote young artists through a series of solo exhibitions through fragments of their research ( hence the title Pieces of Me – Pieces of Me). Memories Beyond The exhibition will be accompanied by an informative flyer designed by the artist which will be distributed free to visitors during the opening event.

Artistic research Valentina Daga has focused for a long time mainly on the means of expression with pictorial works halfway between figuration and abstraction . Beyond Memories in the series , while remaining faithful to the delicate balance at the same time intimate and nostalgic who identified his previous production, emerge more communicative dimensions .
Through the reworking of his memories , drawn from old family photos , re-examine his past and alters the temporal dimension , thus building a scenario dominated by suspension and silence. The works are composed of several layers of clear PVC , each of which shows an image taken from his previous pictorial works , which is reworked digitally inserting isolated figures extrapolated from old photos , thus giving rise to an unprecedented visual solution .
Remain suspended the far horizons of the landscape with the same intensity , but the nature is no longer the undisputed protagonist of the visual field . In this new series appears in fact faceless shapes that give a sense of tension and ambiguity to the narrative. The link with the past is evoked by the titles of the works , deliberately inspired by what the artist is written behind or under each of them : notes, dedications, dates ( custom typical of past generations ) .
The approach intimate , almost conversational, allows you to create new dialogues with the characters represented , generating emotional anachronisms . Daga, in fact, carrying ideally people dear to her in her personal imaginary dimension , created over the years through its emblematic landscapes.

Valentina Daga, (Sassari , 1978) lives and works in Sassari. After graduating from the Art Institute Filippo Figari in Sassari , in 2009 he obtained a diploma in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Mario Sironi of Sassari.
