Con un sapiente lavoro di ricostruzione storica, si ripercorrono le vicende della Cartiera di Arbatax e del suo territorio. Lo spettacolo è anche l’incontro tra due generazioni, quella del sogno industriale e quella “precaria”- in un presente dove le idee faticano a levarsi in volo e i sogni si fanno solo ad occhi chiusi.

AlcatraX, è uno spettacolo sul lavoro, liberamente ispirato alle vicende della cartiera di Arbatax, dal suo nascere fino al suo recentissimo epilogo, attraverso due generazioni di operai.
Il testo è frutto di una ricerca sul campo realizzata attraverso la comparazione e l’analisi di documenti, fatti di cronaca, filmati storici e amatoriali, testimonianze di operai, sindacalisti, politici, documentari, immagini fotografiche e interviste.

Alcatrax è un viaggio nel presente, nella prigione delle idee, quella che fascia e immobilizza i sogni rendendoli gesso, crepe e polvere. Questo sembra essere il presente, un mondo in cui le idee faticano a levarsi in volo e i sogni si possono fare solo ad occhi chiusi, mentre si dorme.
Ma non è sempre stato così: Little Boy racconta di un mondo che poteva essere sognato, che poteva essere immaginato, dove le stanze delle case da due sarebbero diventate tre; e con la prossima tredicesima si comprava la lavatrice, poi la tv. Erano gli anni sessanta e settanta, erano gli anni di Azzurro di Celentano, e dei Deep Purple, della lotta operaia, del femminismo e molto altro . Erano gli anni in cui tutti potevano sognare, anche se non tutti sognavano la stessa cosa.
Ora la fabbrica che ospitava questi sogni è rasa al suolo, e ci chiediamo come siamo arrivati fin qui, e se sia il caso di rimanere ancora.

AlcatraX , is a spectacle at work, loosely based on the events of the paper mill in Arbatax, from his birth until his recent epilogue , through two generations of workers .
The text is the result of field research carried out through the comparison and analysis of documents, news reports , movies and amateur historians , evidence of workers , trade unionists , politicians, documentaries , photographs and interviews.

Alcatrax is a journey in the present, in the prison of ideas, one that immobilizes the dreams end and making plaster, cracks and dust. This seems to be the present, a world in which ideas are struggling to soar and dreams can be made only with your eyes closed while you sleep .
But it was not always so : Little Boy tells the story of a world that could be dreamed of, that could be imagined , where the rooms of the houses would be two became three , and with the upcoming thirteenth they bought the washing machine , then the TV . It was the sixties and seventies were the years of Blue Celentano, and Deep Purple , the workers’ struggle , feminism, and much more. These were the years in which everyone could dream of, although not all dreamed the same thing.
Now the factory that housed these dreams is razed to the ground , and we wonder how we got here, and if there is reason to remain still .
