Mercoledì 16 ottobre alle ore 19,30 il quarto appuntamento della rassegna “I Grandi Maestri del Jazz Internazionale” organizzata da Sardegna Concerti in collaborazione con Forma e Poesia nel Jazz vede l’omaggio di “Paolo Carrus New Ensemble” a Pat Metheny, sul palco del centro storico di Cagliari presso il locale “Sotto la Torre – Osteria del Doge” in Castello, v. S. Croce.
Un’idea nata dal desiderio del pianista e compositore tra i più famosi e apprezzati della Sardegna di proporre nella dimensione dell’ottetto orchestrale le peculiarità stilistiche del grande chitarrista americano, tra i grandi compositori e leader nella musica jazz.

La nuova formazione guidata da Paolo Carrus al pianoforte si avvale di una potente sezione fiati composta da musicisti di consolidata esperienza jazzistica come Stefano D’Anna al sax soprano, Dario Pirodda al sax alto, Andrea Morelli e Valter Alberton al sax tenore e Francesco Sangiovanni al sax baritono, e naturalmente da una potente sezione ritmica con Corrado Salis al basso e Alessandro Garau alla batteria.
