Si apre sabato 5 ottobre alle ore 17.30 nella Sala Mostre della Cittadella dei Musei di Cagliari la mostra collettiva internazionale ICON – Interpretazioni CONtemporanee di Guerra, Pace e Libertà, organizzata e curata dall’Associazione Culturale Wake Art con il patrocinio del Comune di Cagliari.

Dopo una partecipata call internazionale, 24 artisti provenienti da tre continenti sono stati selezionati per confrontarsi sul tema del conflitto attraverso l’uso di diversi linguaggi della creazione visiva. 29 opere che interpretano un tema universale che intende, nel settantesimo anniversario dei bombardamenti su Cagliari, creare un ponte concettuale ed emotivo tra una dolorosissima memoria ancora viva e le memorie “altre”, di altri conflitti in altri luoghi.

Alessandra Madeddu, Ambra Zambernardi, Chiara Baire & Maurizio Loi, Claudia Castangia, Fabio Buonanno, Fabrizio Acciaro, Gaetano Musto, Gianluigi Concas (IperPlasticol), Giulio Barrocu, Luisa Schirru, Marcello Nocera, Marco Mostallino, Massimiliano Poggioni (Stereomapo), Massimo Cairo, Matteo Ambu, May El Hossamy, Michele Cara, Mona Mohagheghi, Monica Seksich, Roberta Ragona (Tostoini), Salvatore Deiana, Silvia Sanna, Tero Räty, Valeria Ferrante.

Ospite speciale della mostra, il progetto multimediale “Radici Aeree” realizzato da TRW e StudioVuoto e già presentato al pubblico in occasione di Monumenti Aperti 2013: l’archivio sonoro “La Radio dello Spazio” di Valeria Muledda (StudioVuoto) sarà fruibile tutti i giorni, mentre i due video “Warloops” di Elisabetta Saiu (TRW) e “L’Architetto Verde” di Marta Anatra (TRW) saranno proiettati durante l’evento di chiusura venerdì 11 ottobre.

It opens Saturday, October 5 at 17:30 in the Exhibition Hall of the Citadel Museum of Cagliari, the international exhibition ICON – contemporary interpretations of War , Peace and Freedom, organized and curated by the Cultural Wake Art under the patronage of the Municipality of Cagliari.

After a participatory international call , 24 artists from three continents have been selected to work with the issue of the conflict through the use of different languages ​​of visual creation . 29 works that interpret a universal theme that means, in the seventieth anniversary of the bombing of Cagliari , create a conceptual bridge between a painful and emotional memory alive and memories “other” of other conflicts in other places.

The special guest of the show, the multimedia project ” Aerial Roots ” made by TRW and StudioVuoto and already presented to the public at Monument Open 2013: the sound archive ” Radio Space ” by Valeria Muledda ( StudioVuoto ) will be available every day , while the two videos ” Warloops ” Elizabeth Saiu ( TRW ) and ” the Green Architect ” by Marta Duck ( TRW ) will be shown during the closing event Friday, October 11 .
