Lo spettacolo ricrea un percorso d’amore a senso unico all’interno di uno spazio claustofobico, dove la voce dolce e spirituale di suor Maria Celeste rincorre in un moto perpetuo e infinito la voce del padre Galileo che inarrestabile come la follia dell’ Orlando Furioso, da lui tanto stimato e amato, si rende a lei inafferrabile ed evanescente. NOTE DI REGIA di Marco Carniti La figlia di Galileo Galilei, Virginia, venne alla luce al fiorire di un nuovo secolo: il 1600. Nacque dalla relazione illegittima dello scienziato con Marina Gamba di Venezia.Poco dopo il suo tredicesimo anno entrò nel convento di clausura di San Matteo in Arcetri prendendo il nome di suor Maria Celeste. Vi rimase per tutta la sua breve vita insieme alla sorella Livia (suor Arcangela). Galileo Galilei insegna matematica ai principi, fa esperimenti di fisica, pubblica saggi, scopre nuovi fenomeni astronomici e tramite il suo pensiero apre alla figlia suor Maria Celeste, le porte dei “massimi sistemi” mentre lei lo introduce nella quotidianeità delle mura del suo convento di clausura.
Affiorano pensieri segreti, misteriosi incubi , uniti a piccoli bisogni quotidiani e al desiderio profondo che l’affetto per questo “immenso” padre completamente assente venga ascoltato attraverso una corrispondenza a senso unico che non ricevera’ mai una risposta. Padre e figlia, come due astri del cielo, si rincorrono a vicenda ma è il cuore di Lei a battere con più forza per cercare di avvicinare con la dolcezza la mente troppo occupata di Lui, proiettata come per follia nell’universo della conoscienza. “Ah, se V.S. potesse penetrar l’animo e il desiderio mio come penetra i cieli…”

Galileo Galilei teaches mathematical principles, makes physics experiments, publishes essays, discovers new astronomical phenomena and through his thought opens the daughter Sister Maria Celeste, the doors of the “Systems” as she introduces everyday life in the walls of her convent enclosure.
