Liberamente tratta da un classico della narrativa sarda ottocentesca, la brillante narrazione di Gianluca Medas ripercorre le feroci vicende che sconvolsero il paese di Aggius nei sette anni (dal 1849 al 1856) di una delle faida più sanguinolente della storia della Sardegna. Scritto da Enrico Costa, (il più alto esponente del romanzo storico sardo, di cui la stessa Deledda si dichiarava discepola, autore inoltre di Sassari, La bella di Cabras e Giovanni Tolu, storia di un bandito sardo narrata da lui medesimo) con uno stile a cavallo tra i fatti di cronaca e la finzione letteraria, “Il muto di Gallura” è diventato ormai leggenda.
Oltre settanta i morti, gran parte dei quali attribuiti a Bastiano Addis Tansu, sordo muto ed emarginato fin dall’infanzia anche a causa del suo carattere violentissimo. L’assassinio del fratello Michele segna il passo cruciale nella vita del muto di Gallura, che si diede alla macchia con l’obiettivo di vendicarlo. Per diversi anni batterà la campagna in solitudine, diventando uno spietato vendicatore. Solo dopo la pace del 1856, che vide riappacificate le potenti famiglie rivali dei Vasa, dei Mamia e dei Pileri, anche Bastiano Addis Tansu cesserà di seminare il terrore.
Tra sonorità desertiche ed evocazioni western, la messa in scena di Gianluca Medas, accompagnata dal vivo dalla formazione musicale Baska, ripercorre gli avvenimenti di quel mondo lontano, segnato da una crudeltà disperata e disperante, da violenza e solitudine esasperate.

Gianluca Medas
Proveniente dalla più antica Famiglia d’Arte sarda, fin dal 1985 Gianluca Medas tiene in vita la tradizione di famiglia, impegnandosi anche nella realizzazione di nuovi progetti ispirati e dedicati alla cultura popolare. Tra le manifestazioni organizzate dai Figli d’Arte Medas, si distinguono la rassegna “Famiglie d’Arte” i cui percorsi artistici valorizzano il teatro popolare, e il recente “Festival della Storia”.
Regista, attore ed autore, Gianluca Medas esplora le molte possibilità della comunicazione portando avanti una ricerca che spazia dal teatro allo televisione, passando per il settore editoriale e il cinema. Un’importanza e un affetto particolare legano l’artista al progetto Paddori, che vaglia l’ipotesi dell’esistenza di una maschera sarda legata al tradizionale personaggio campidanese. Dal 1989, inoltre, Gianluca Medas si dedica all’improvvisazione, trovando nei Contos (narrazioni su canovaccio) un naturale compimento. Più di recente, il percorso di Gianluca Medas si evolve con lo studio sulla parola che si fa musica, dando vita, nel 2007, alla collaborazione artistica con il musicista Andrea Congia, incentrata sulla valorizzazione della dimensione orale della comunicazione.

Baska
Baska è un progetto sperimentale nato dall’unione di tre musicisti formatisi in esperienze musicali radicalmente diverse: Andrea Congia, chitarrista cagliaritano, da anni impegnato nella coniugazione tra Parola e Musica; Massimo Loriga, polistrumentista proveniente dall’esperienza dei Kenze Neke e degli Uninvited, e che attualmente suona nei Nur e nei KNA; Arrogalla (LCL, Mime – cofondatore di Bentesoi), produttore electro dub di Quartu Sant’Elena.
Il suono di Baska è una miscela di sonorità dub e lo-fi che si intrecciano con atmosfere psichedeliche, progressive e popolari. Le sue creazioni affondano le radici in ambienti sonori ancestrali, medioevali e western, filtrati dagli anni 80 e tradotti in chiave contemporanea.
Ha prodotto 3 ep: [BSK01] Inchiesta sulle risultanze di alcuni nastri registrati, [BSK02] Bellas Mariposas,[BSK03] Chelu contenente il videoclip di Filippo Ciucciomei del singolo “Baska”, masterizzato presso lo studio “Artefacts Mastering” specializzato in techno, dub e elettronica. Il progetto Baska cura anche la produzione e l’esecuzione di opere musico-teatrali in collaborazione con diversi attori: con Gianluca Medas (Figli d’Arte Medas) ha realizzato: Calore! Il Mondo Consumato, Sa Limba est s’Istòria de su Mundu (Frantziscu Masala), I Giganti di Monti ‘e Prama, Il Viaggio di Juanne Maria Angioy e il Triennio Rivoluzionario Sardo, Il muto di Gallura (Enrico Costa), Su Contu de Sant’Efis, Contus de Santus.

Freely adapted from a classic Sardinian nineteenth-century fiction, the brilliant narration by Gianluca Medas traces the fierce events that shook the country Aggius in seven years (1849 to 1856) of one of the most bloody feud in the history of Sardinia. Written by Enrico Costa, (the highest exponent of the historical novel Sardinia, of which it is declared Deledda disciple, author also of Sassari, The Belle of Cabras and Tolu John, the story of a Sardinian bandit told by himself) with a style in between news stories and literary fiction, “The dumb di Gallura” has become a legend.
Over seventy deaths, most of which are attributed to Sebastian Addis Tansu, deaf dumb and marginalized since childhood also because of its violent nature. The murder of his brother Michael marks the crucial step in the life of the dumb di Gallura, who went into hiding in order to avenge him. For several years he beat the countryside in solitude, becoming a merciless avenger. Only after the peace of 1856, which saw riappacificate powerful rival families of the Vasa, the Mamia and Pileri, even Bastiano Addis Tansu cease to sow terror.
Between sound and evocations western desert, the staging of Gianluca Medas, accompanied by live musical training Baska, recounts the events of that distant world, marked by a desperate and despairing cruelty, violence and extreme loneliness.

Gianluca Medas
From the earliest Family Art Sardinia since 1985 Gianluca Medas keeps alive the family tradition by engaging in the creation of new projects inspired by and dedicated to popular culture. Among the events organized by the Sons of Art Medas, stand the show “Family Art” whose artistic paths enhance the popular theater, and the recent “Festival of History.”
Director, actor and author, Gianluca Medas explores the many possibilities of communication carrying out a research that ranges from theater to television, through the publishing and the cinema. Importance and particular affection bind the artist to the project Paddori which screens the hypothesis of a mask connected to the Sardinian traditional character campidanese. Since 1989, moreover, Gianluca Medas dedicated to improvisation, finding in Contos (narratives on canvas) a natural conclusion. More recently, the path of Gianluca Medas evolves with the study of the word becomes music, creating, in 2007, the artistic collaboration with musician Andrea Congia, focused on the enhancement of the oral communication.

Baska
Baska is an experimental project born from the union of three musicians formed in radically different musical backgrounds: Andrea Congia, guitarist Cagliari, for years engaged in conjugation between the Word and Music; Maximum Loriga, multi-instrumentalist from the experience of Kenze Neke and Uninvited, and currently plays in Nur and KNA; Arrogalla (LCL, Mime – co-founder of Bentesoi), producer electro dub of St. Helens.
The sound of Baska is a blend of dub and lo-fi sounds that are intertwined with psychedelic atmospheres, progressive and popular. His creations are rooted in sound environments ancestral medieval and western, filtered by year 80 and translated into a contemporary twist.
He produced three ep: [BSK01] Survey results of some tapes, [BSK02] Bellas Mariposas, [BSK03] Chelu containing the video clip of Philip Ciucciomei the single “Baska”, mastered at the studio “Artefacts Mastering” specialized in techno, dub and electronica. The project Baska by the production and performance of music-theater works in partnership with various actors: with Gianluca Medas (Sons of Art Medas) reported: Heat! The World Consumed, s’Istòria de Sa Limba east of Mundu (Frantziscu Masala), The Giant Mountains’ e Prama, The Journey of Mary Juanne Angioy and the Revolutionary Three-year Sardo, Il Muto di Gallura (Enrico Costa), on Contu de Sant’Efis, Contus de Santus.
