“Il film analizza gli ultimi tumultuosi mesi in carica del sedicesimo presidente degli Stati Uniti. In una nazione divisa dalla guerra e spazzata dai venti del cambiamento, Lincoln osserva una linea di condotta che mira a porre fine alla guerra, unire il paese e abolire la schiavitù. Avendo il coraggio morale ed essendo fieramente determinato ad avere successo, le scelte che compirà in questo momento critico cambieranno il destino delle generazioni future”.

Film eminentemente di cast e scrittura, vede uno Steven Spielberg insolito: attento a servire con rispetto e discrezione la grandezza del testo e degli attori, il regista contiene la retorica e dona umanità a una Storia ammantata di leggenda. Prestazioni attoriali stratosferiche a partire da Daniel Day-Lewis, passando per James Spader e Tommy Lee Jones.

Tratto dal libro Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln di Doris Kearns Goodwin ed effettivamente non si può fare a meno di non notare la forte connotazione  politico riflessiva dell’immagine  che , attraverso l’ottima interpretazione  di Daniel Day Lewis, Spielberg ha voluto dare a tutta al pellicola.

Questo grande film, perchè di grande film si tratta, vuole parlare ad un pubblico estremamente colto ed informato sui fatti, non credo venga premiato dal boxoffice e potrebbe pure essere maltrattato dalla critica.
Ciò a noi poco importa, è una meraviglia, una cupa, pesantissima, complessa, difficile, meraviglia. In alcuni momenti sembra di assistere “alla storia” in tempo reale, quasi di farne parte.

Quattro nomination agli oscar (Miglior Film, Regia, Sceneggiatura, e Migliore Attrice Protagonista) per una delle migliori pellicole dell’anno.

Il regista si chiama Benh Zeitlin, appena 30 anni, esordiente, capace di arrivare subito alla nomination come regista dell’anno. Per quanto riguarda l’attrice protagonista, ecco a voi Quvenzhané Wallis, 9 anni, la più giovane candidata agli Oscar. Una bambina che ha saputo imprimere tutta se stessa su questa pellicola, dando anima e corpo, fondendosi con essa.

Questo film si merita ogni singola parola di lode che ha più che giustamente ricevuto! Il film sin da subito si riempie di anima, e sin dalla prima inquadratura ci trasporta in una realtà forse difficile da accettare e capire, ma che con grazia riesce a farsi strada nel profondo dello spettatore, il prologo è qualcosa di eccezionale, che mostra una sensibilità stilistica sorprendente per un’opera prima… sono molti gli argomenti che mette in ballo, da quello di un infanzia difficile al disertamento dello stile di vita del mondo capitalistico e moderno, rifiutando qualsiasi tipo di comfort derivato dalla tecnologia, mostrando in modo meraviglioso la voglia di vivere in libertà, nel senso più puro e selvaggio del termine, una messa in scena di una preistoria “moderna” che spinge alla rinascita un mondo ormai alla deriva ….non si può che rimanere incantati e poi applaudire!

Trama
Steve Butler è un abile ed amabile venditore di una grande corporation che, con la collega Sue Thomason, viene inviato in una piccola cittadina rurale del cui territorio deve acquisire i diritti di trivellazione. Inizialmente la comunità, colpita duramente dalla crisi economica, appare più che bendisposta a concludere l’affare: ma l’opposizione di un rispettato insegnante e di un leader di un movimento popolare complica non di poco i piani di Steve.

Matt Damon ha vinto la sua prima battaglia contro i petrolieri: la potente lobby della Big Oil aveva tentato in tutti i modi di ostacolare l’uscita di “Promised Land”, il film che denuncia i pericoli del “fracking”, ovvero la pratica di estrazione del gas attraverso la frantumazione delle rocce, tramite il processo di perforazione idraulica che da sempre solleva preoccupazioni a livello ambientale come la contaminazione dell’acqua.

Il film però è uscito in Usa, è in gara in questo giorni al Festival di Berlino Matt Damon è il protagonista di Promised Land, scritto a quattro mani con John Krasinski. Il film racconta di un’azienda di gas che vuole attingere alle risorse di un piccolo paese, tramite il processo di perforazione idraulica che da sempre solleva preoccupazioni a livello ambientale come la contaminazione dell’acqua.
Damon, uno degli attori di Hollywood più sensibili alla causa ambientalista.

Film eminently cast and writing, one sees Steven Spielberg unusual attentive to serve you with respect and discretion the size of the text and the actors, the director has the rhetoric and give humanity a history steeped in legend. Actorial stratospheric performance from Daniel Day-Lewis, through James Spader and Tommy Lee Jones.

Based on the book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin and actually you can not help but not notice the strong political connotation reflective of the image through the fine performance of Daniel Day Lewis, Spielberg wanted to give the whole film.

This great movie, because it is a great film, wants to talk to an audience highly educated and informed on the facts, I do not think will be rewarded by the box office and may also be abused by critics.
This does not matter to us, it is a wonder, a dark, heavy, complex, difficult, wonderful. In some moments seems to watch “history” in real time, as part of it.

Nominated for four Oscars (Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, and Best Actress) for one of the best films of the year.

The director called Benh Zeitlin, only 30 years old, rookie, able to get right to the nomination as director of the year. As for the lead actress, here Quvenzhané Wallis, 9 years old, the youngest Oscar nominee. A little girl was able to give all of herself on this film, giving body and soul, merging with it.

This film deserves every word of praise it has received more than right! The film right now is full of soul, and from the first frame takes us into a reality perhaps difficult to accept and understand, but that gracefully manages to make his way in the depths of the viewer, the prologue is something exceptional, showing a amazing sense of style for a first … there are many topics that puts into play, from a difficult childhood to disertamento lifestyle of the modern capitalist world and, refusing any kind of comfort derived from the technology, showing how wonderful the desire to live in freedom, in the most pure and wild-term, staged a prehistoric “modern” that leads to the rebirth of a world that is drifting …. you be fascinated and then applaud!

Plot
