È ufficiale: dopo anni di attesa il Jazzino, lo storico jazz club cagliaritano, riapre finalmente i battenti. Il 26 e il 27 ottobre l’inaugurazione con il grande Rob Mazurek e il suo Pulsar Quartet, e a ruota il 28 e il 29 ottobre il fenomeno mondiale del sax James Brandon Lewis, considerato “Futuro del jazz” dalla rivista specializzata Musica Jazz che proprio il mese scorso gli ha dedicato la copertina. Una girandola di eventi nazionali e internazionali che si succederanno per tutto l’anno nel Jazzino che rinasce sotto forma di club con settanta posti a sedere, nel centro di Cagliari in via Carloforte n. 74 con un’attività live che offrirà grande musica e ristorazione di alto livello.
I prezzi varieranno da 5 a 20 Euro con sola consumazione, e da 25 a 50 Euro per ingresso con cena (su prenotazione). Tutti i giorni, dal lunedì al sabato, dal brunch alla cena, si potranno gustare i piatti di qualità, come sempre accessibile a tutte le tasche, immersi in un’atmosfera musicale unica, dove poter scoprire e ascoltare i nomi d’eccellenza e la scena innovativa jazzistica ricca di fermenti e di novità musicali.
Tanti i nomi dei jazzisti di fama mondiale che si succederanno sul palco del Jazzino, come Harri Ihanus, Eivind Aarset, Michele Rabbia, Lionel Loueke, Roberto Cecchetto, Miguel Zenón Quartet. Non mancheranno le migliori produzioni jazzistiche locali e nazionali e i nuovi talenti delle correnti musicali più recenti.

Rob Mazurek, (Chicago, classe 1964) compositore, cornettista, improvvisatore e visual artist, è considerato attualmente uno dei musicisti più apprezzati e stimati del jazz moderno. Il Pulsar Quartet, una della più recenti avventure del musicista statunitense vede una miscela caleidoscopica tra la magia e la potenza di Angelica Sanchez al pianoforte, le forme melodiche di Matthew Lux al basso, la creatività poliritmica di John Herndon alla batteria e percussioni e le note solari di Muzarek, cornetta.

James Brandon Lewis arriva in trio insieme a Max Johnson al basso e Dominic Fragman alla batteria. Incoronato da Ebony Magazine come “uno dei sette giovani da tenere d’occhio” il sassofonista originario di Buffalo, USA (classe 1983), porterà a Cagliari e per la prima volta in Sardegna, il suo ultimo lavoro discografico “Divine Travels: un viaggio mistico da non perdere, tra free jazz il sacro gospel.

Rob Mazurek (Chicago, born 1964), composer, cornetist, improviser and visual artist, is currently considered one of the most popular and respected musicians of modern jazz. The Pulsar Quartet, one of the latest adventures of the American musician sees a kaleidoscopic mixture between the magic and power of Angelica Sanchez on piano, the melodic shapes of Matthew Lux on bass, polyrhythmic creativity of John Herndon on drums and percussion and notes solar Muzarek, cornet.
